Win vs Cincy at home and it is a new ball game. If we get a bye and do not meet Syracuse in the next game we will make a run in NYC at least to Friday night.
Regroup Saturday get Austin back and we can do positive things in NYC. After Syracuse we are in my mind the second best team in the conference when we play well.
We were not beating WVA on the road with or without Freeman so tonight was par for the course.
On a neutral court we can beat anyone in the conference not named Syracuse.
HOWEVER....if we lose to Cincy we are dead as we wont win another game all year.

We are the better team, at home, with alot to play for. If that doesn't get us motivated and focused, nothing will.

Well, what happens if half of our team is hospitalized from Freemans virus and we have a starting 5 of Jason, Henry, Benimon, Chris, Hollis? With two walk-ons for the bench? I mean, its possible isn't it if Greg, Julian, and Vee have all been contaminated?
What happens then oh wise one?

Not looking to speculate on illness or injury, but I missed the first 10 minutes or so of the game, so was wondering if it was mentioned early in the broadcast which Hoyas were also suffering from some of the effects of the virus (just wondering why you think Greg, Julian and Vee are sick also).

sleepy...give it a break, your schtick is getting old. And Chris Wright bashing is so fresh and new... But I was actually being serious. I really don't understand why people seem to think its a lock Austin is good for Saturday, or will be near 100%. Hes in the hospital right now for goodness sake. And some of our other players could have easily picked up whatever he got. Its really not a ridiculous notion that we could be down Austin and possibly more come Saturday. And Grandpa-those were the Hoyas mentioned.

Assuming of course all is right with the world of course. Hell we should be able to beat Cin without Freeman.

I have to say I agree with Bronx on this one. Whoa, did not see that coming.
I really never had much expectations of a W tonight since the only team to beat WVU this season at home in the BE is Cuse and it was Butler's senior night. Combine that with no Free and this game was pretty much a done deal. I was happy we got Vee 21 minutes however.
I also feel very confident about the Cincy game. It is the same feeling I had heading into UL. We are the better team, we have that back up against the wall feeling right now and if we have a full rotation, I think we beat them pretty well at home. Let's face it, this is likely Greg's last home game and no one wants him to go out a loser. If Cincy loses to Nova this week, they have no real shot at the NCAAs and they are in a worse tailspin than us right now.
That said, I agree, if we lose to Cincy (barring any unusual circumstances) this team is done. I really just do not see that happening.

I can agree with that Bronx. We're just so schizo right now that it's hard to say which team will show up. I think someone in an earlier thread characterized it as if it was a team of Good Brandons/Bad Brandons. But you're right that we're starting to move from inconsistent to consistently bad, and we really need a win to right the ship before the BET/NCAA. Unlike last year, we have the ability/talent/experience. They just need to figure it out and put it all together.

NCH you should always agree with Bronxie. He knows his ISH and he does not care about being PC. Big John says the same things I say. Is he a troll too? I tell it like it is despite my love for my Hoyas.
JTIII has already begun to change his recruiting patterns evidenced by this Goodman fellow. We need more athletes who are quick and rangy. Our big men are not very good athletes and our PG is an average athlete at best with short limbs. Get a team of quick leapers who play fast and with skill and we will be better. Our teams should always be 9 deep with quality.

We have to begin to get easy baskets off of our defense.

Can we create a forum rule against talking about oneself in the third person?

Not if people are going to be allowed to talk about the Mets in game threads.

Filo is a Mets fan. Only thing more frustrating than being a Hoyas fan is being a Mets fan.
On topic, I pretty much agree with the inital post. During the WVU game, I was pretty much thinking the season was over and the team has just lost its way. I can't keep the optimist in me down, so I am just hoping everyone gets healthy and the team manages to get it together for Cincy and the post-season.

And Grandpa-those were the Hoyas mentioned. Most times when a bug runs through a team it lasts 3 or 4 days. If this is something longer, then we are in big trouble. But I think the far more likely scenario gets the guys back to full health by Saturday; heck, with the world class Georgetown Medical Center, we had better be able to heal these players!

Sorry about the METS chatter but at that point the game was so unbearable I thought Id talk about another unbearable team. Better than me ranting about how dissapointed I am regarding Hammering Hank....
