Forget all of this drinking stuff, it is beyond doubt that Barry was just smuggling Bolsheviks on that trip, and the media is along for the ride. I wonder why they don't report that and continue to oppress conservatives instead. Of course, such criticisms were not heard when so-called liberal media reported that there were WMD in Iraq. That wasn't as funny than the trivialities that now occupy our public discourse about the media. Boz linked to an article earlier in the thread that covers this topic, I think.

Here's the actual line in the report :
"Continue smoking cessation efforts, a daily exercise program, healthy diet, moderation in alcohol intake, periodic dental care, and remain up-to-date with recommended immunizations."
So basically it's saying he should continue in all the good health practices he's already following. Doctors urge to wear protection when you have sex outside of a committed relationship - this thread is akin to taking that piece of advice and turning it into "John McCain is a pedophile", when that's clearly not true and he only sleeps with adult lobbyists.

Great. So you're saying he doesn't brush his teeth despite all that smoking and drinking? I hope my tax dollars don't have to pay for his emergency root canals.

It was funny the first time, but perhaps the punchlines and shibboleth spewing lose their comedic value when done more frequently. It is the same reason why I attack Rush Limbaugh. Maybe there's an argument that "Barack the Magic Negro" was funny once as satire (highly debateable, but maybe he gets a pass). Far more serious questions arise when done repetitively, Internet magazines aside.
This humor seems to break on party lines, just as some didn't appreciate the Bush/Cheney humor that popped up or the Sarah Palin humor at first blush even when it was also satire at times. Sarah Palin, for example, called a foul pretty early in the game against Letterman when he too just wanted to be funny. So, you got your laugh from me, but don't expect to keep the crowd if you go back to the same playbook all the time. People will be less inclined to trust your humor if you have to pass out a how-to pamphlet to go along with it. Vado's stuff, which I enjoy for the most part, stands on its own.

The fact that Elvado thinks this is ridiculous is all that really needs to be said, but just for fun I'll quote Ed Whelan of that pinko rag National Review: Congratulations, TBird. You are officially now the Biggest Hack on HoyaTalk!

Personally, TBird, I think you should charge admission next time. That was like an E-ticket ride or something. Now word comes that Obama can't even speak without help.....and I'm not talking about the teleprompter. More baseless, probably racist, conservative attacks!

This thread is ridiculous. Kinda funny, but ridiculous. Gladly, I think everyone knows it too.

Wow. So all that noise a couple weeks back about the White House bar bill had an even more sinister side... that was just money spent for the President's personal consumption?!

President Grant's physician recommended he continue his moderation in alcohol intake.

Lincoln, when apprised of Grant's drinking: "Find out what Grant drinks and send a barrel of it to each of my other generals!"

What's the deal?
I got the same recommendations at my annual and I would make a great president.

If I had to deal with people like Senator Bunning, I think I would drink, too.

If I had to deal with people like Senator Bunning, I think I would drink, too. Alcoholics don't need a reason to drink and addicts don't need a reason to use. You know that, right? [tick, tick, tick, tick........]

[tick, tick, tick, tick........]You know why Obama always talks about wanting bi-partisanship and he gets really mad about Republican "obstructionism McConnell and Bunning won't give him free Bourbon.

For people who elected an open alcoholic to the presidency, you sure are a bunch of teetotalers.
