Great post, A+, would read again!! Good to hear. Nice to see the President setting such a good example for the country. Nothing like having the guy w/ the launch codes continually drinking and smoking.

Way to show you have genuine arguments against policies and not just idiotic partisan nonsense! Elvado will be jealous you beat him to this.

Do you know how many drinks doctors consider "excessive" or put you in the "binge drinking" category? Not that many. Through college, I think all of us could legitimately have been put in rehab if most doctors had their way. Without more information, I don't see how anyone could reach any conclusion about this.

Right, b/c the responsibilities of the President and your average student are the same. And the ability of a 48 year old and a college student to handle alcohol are obviously different. Especially when that 48 year old is sucking down cigarettes like they're about to get outlawed by his buddies Nancy and Harry as part of their plan to control every last thing we put into our bodies. Plus the man's going to give himself an ulcer if he keeps mixing pain killers and booze.

I highly doubt the President is on any serious pain-killers.
They said he takes anti-inflammatories after basketball.
Translation: "Who's got the Alleve?"

TBird, if you reach any farther, you're going to pull something. Nah, I stretched properly beforehand. Drank a lot of fluids too--didn't want to cramp up. ;D

Obama did look extremely irritable at the health care summit. Major hangover? Perhaps.

Doesn't everyone need to "moderate their alcohol intake", if they in fact drink?
This is a non-issue of the most ridiculous kind.
I'm in a no-criticism mode vis-a-vis the president right now, but this crap would not even make my radar. If he wants to live a longer, healthier life he should give up the smokes but my tow favorite great uncles (85 and 96) are living proof that drinking is AOK.

And here I was waiting for someone to post gratitude that the tsunami in Kenya this weekend didn't destroy Obama's birth certificate. We managed to top that. Funny stuff.

The answer to the first question, is no--there's been some studies that shows a glass of wine / a drink a night can be beneficial.

Hmmm...didn't know he was using his drinking abilities to put the Russians back in their place. Have to say I'm surprised the media didn't include his ability to out drink a Russian as part of their "walks on water" coverage. Still, mad props to Barry O.

Forget all of this drinking stuff, it is beyond doubt that Barry was just smuggling Bolsheviks on that trip, and the media is along for the ride. I wonder why they don't report that and continue to oppress conservatives instead.
Of course, such criticisms were not heard when so-called liberal media reported that there were WMD in Iraq. That wasn't as funny than the trivialities that now occupy our public discourse about the media.
