I thought this was appropriate given the recent thread by bronxhoya. I will start with a few thoughts:
(1) Realizing the season has ups and downs (2) Realizing the team has ups and downs (3) Realizing the players have ups and downs (4) Realizing the coaching staff have ups and downs (5) We fully support the team regardless of outcomes (6) Our criticisms and analysis are constructive and always tempered by the realization that our perceptions may not be reality and our opinions may just not be fact. (7) We don't behave like Syracuse or WVa fans.

(8) Realize that we are not the coaches (9) Realize it takes a lot more to coach a bunch of 18-21 year olds how to play good basketball then we think (10) Realize that it takes a lot more to scout and prepare for each game and opponent (11) Realize that no matter what we do we do not effect the game (12) Realize that nothing bad comes from hoping for the best for our team

I tend to agree, except with this: (11) Realize that no matter what we do we do not effect the game JTIII and members of the team have said several times that they feed off the energy from the crowd. From that standpoint we do, collectively, make a difference and may perhaps have some effect on the game.

I meant more as posters on Hoyatalk then fans at the game, but that did make me think of another one
13) Cheer our lungs out and stay on our feet as long as they will hold us up at basketball games (incl you alumni)

14) Your life will not end based on poor results 15) Only the lives of the players, coaches, and their families are directly affected by the performance of the team

16) Realize that rushing the court is usually not the right decision, unless we've just beaten the Harlem Globtrotters

15) Only the lives of the players, coaches, and their families are directly affected by the performance of the team I would argue this is false. Take, for example, me. The joy after wins (which often lasts for days) and despair after losses (which often lasts for days) seems to have a very direct impact on my life! I know many others whose lives are similarly impacted by the performance of this particular team. It is sad, no doubt, but true.

And even III has done it this season at least once. I'm sure they don't do it for fun because they think it would be nice to see people stand. I think it matters to them and it matters to the vibe on the court. That's why I HATE IT when our fans are into the game, we're making a comeback, and then the opposing coach calls timeout and we act like the game just ended. You know, opposing coaches call timeout to quiet the crowd. Why does it seem like Verizon INSISTS on obliging?

It also annoys me when the team goes on like a 8-10 point run and the place is going crazy and then the other team scores a lay-up and like it was worth 1000 points or something the crowd stops going nuts. That is best time to be going nuts, to keep the run going. The other team is going to score some points, there is now reason to go silent because of one basket.
