We need to get a huge crowd out to this one. Toss up between midterms and final real home game of the year... I'd expect a decent-to-good student turnout but not a rowdy one.

For the love of all that's holy, I hope that students aren't choosing between studying and GOING TO A GAME AT NOON ON A SATURDAY. A SATURDAY!!!!! A SATURDAY!!!!!!!! There's no test the next day. The next day is Sunday. Study then. Or after the game on Saturday. Gahhhhhhhhhhhh. Hoya Blue should leave one member behind to go into the library and burn the notebooks (or break the computers) of any student found there during the game on Saturday.

Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% behind you.
I went back and checked the closest recent game I could find. Pitt in '07 was the Saturday before Spring Break as well as the last home game before it, but that was basically for the BE Reg Season title and it was, of course, packed. Cinci in 08 is pretty similar, but that 08 GU team had much more buzz around it. The only thing I found in the archives was that the place was pretty quiet, which suggests low student turnout despite the fact that the overall attendance exceeded 17K.

Notre Dame sits at 17-10/6-8, currently good for 11th in the Big East. They're rated 65th on kenpom with one of the wilder offense-defense deviations in hoops: 4th on O , 235th on D . Yup, you read that right. And their defensive style plays right to our advantage: they don't cause turnovers or get steals, they don't block particularly well, and they don't defend the 3. On the offensive end, however, they're 16th in eFG%, 5th in 3FG%, and 5th in TO allowed. That's impressive. They're also decent rebounders on both ends (top third/quarter). Play defense, Hoyas. Play defense. Good start in last night's second half.

Monther Nature is not finished screwing with us yet here in D.C., but hopefully everything will be cleared up by Saturday this time around.
5 inches? Bah!!! A mere dusting! Little more than a light rain, relatively speaking.

Simple.
Use this game as a springboard to start a WINNING STREAK (and I know it's "one game at a time", but this game should really be a stepping stone to not just a 2 game winning streak, but beyond that).
Let's develop some CONSISTENCY. This is the time of the year to bring it all together.

PUtting out an apb for Julian Vaughn. He has been very quiet the last month and needs to step up. I still don't get why they pulled Henry after one errant shot against Cuse. We will need him in the big dance as Greg &/or Vaughan will get in foul trouble and JB isn't really an inside threat.

Not sure why the criticism of Harangody as an NBA prospect. Kevin Love was supposed to be a too-small, too slow stiff in the NBA and all he's doing is averaging a double-double. Gody is a big, widebody with decent hands and touch who is going to end up with a decent, but maybe not spectacular career.
That said, if he plays, he will be good..... FOR GREG TO POOP ON!

Need to win this game. Gody, for all the crap he gets, is a mighty fine college basketball player, and as I recall, he ate Greg up last year. Greg is a year older, a year wiser, and has a big man sidekick now, so I'm hoping we're better off. Julian has to not pickup cheap fouls though. I think he sometimes overcommits to block shots, even when he's in good position, and Gody hits his FTs.
I haven't really seen them play very much, so I'm kind of confused about their lineup. Is Abromaitis more of a 3 or a 4, and, consequently, who is checking him, Austin or Greg? If we limit him and BabyHeart, I like our chances even if Gody goes off.
We stopped listing with the L'ville win. Winning this one would right the ship.

Maybe JTIII will let Henry out of the dog house for this game. We need his size and fouls.

Love was a much better NBA prospect than Harangody. NBA GMs are dumb, but usually b/c they mistake athleticism for bball ability, not vice versa. There's a reason Love was a sure fire lottery pick after his freshman year and Harangody is still playing at ND. 1) Kevin Love is 2 inches taller than Harangody (6'10 v. 6'8). 2) Love is more athletic, a better passer, a better rebounder and a better defender. (Love averaged 17ppg, 10rbg & 2 apg as a freshman)

Can anyone recommend a good spot in Charlottesville to watch the game? I'll be missing this one at Verizon... hoyatables? anyone? Buffalo Wild Wings in Barracks is pretty good and they have DirecTV. Wild Wing Cafe is closer to the downtown mall, and probably has better food. There's a new bar on The Corner, Trinity, but I'm not sure about their TV capability, but it is nice inside. Mellow Mushroom on The Corner has decent pizza, good draft beers and DirecTV I believe.

He does look like Gary Busey.....POINT BREAK!!!!!!! UTAH!! Get me two!! This reminds me of something a few months ago. Point Break was on one of those crappy local channels like WB or UPN. And they went to commercial break with this... "You're watching UPN 24. We'll be right back with Point Break..... starring Gary Busey!" I was floored with laughter.

It sucks that everyone not in Chicago and DC will get switched to the kentucky game when Georgetown starts blowing out ND.
Our big 3 > then their big 3 of Jackson, Abromitis, and Gody. And if gody isn't able to play. forget about it.

At least you'll get to see some of it. As it turns out, I made a very poor choice in law school.

So is it pretty safe to assume that a sports bar with Direct TV will be able to get the game?
