Should've been with C-----. That would've been true punishment. The expose probably would have lost C----- his job. Oh wait, that would have been awesome.
(EDIT: For MassHoya. Also, I actually read the article and thought it was a pretty nice piece.)

Don't even use the C word. It might jinx us for Thursday night and he refs the game.

Also, I actually read the article and thought it was a pretty nice piece.) Yeah, this should...well, something. From a different profile of Timmy H. from a few years ago: www.referee.com/more/Samples/non_subscribers1105/free_wingingit.html "When you travel with guys on the road, you really get to know them fairly well and you develop a bond with these guys," Cahill says. "Higs is certainly the type of guy that you can get to know and like in a hurry."We were coming back from South Carolina a few years back on Valentine’s Day and we had picked up a pizza for the ride home. Tim remembered it was Valentine’s Day and thought it would be good time, while he was driving the car and eating pizza, to call his wife to wish her a happy Valentine’s Day.
"Well, the only problem with that is while he was calling her and trying to drive, he was eating the pizza. He’s not the neatest guy in the world when he’s eating and the grease from the pizza started to drip down his chin.
"I wasn’t paying much attention to him until I felt a little nudge. He was pointing to his chin and he expected me to wipe the grease from his chin with a napkin! He wanted me to clean him up as he was busy sending his best to his wife on the phone!"
Sooooooo...think about that the next time you...IDK, want to hate yourself. The article's pretty good (although I swear somebody on CNNSI or some other site did the same "follow an official around" article a few years ago). I watched that UL-Cuse game, and it actually is pretty funny to hear Tim Higgins in his north Jersey accent yell at a little kid to come mop up the floor.

I thought it was an interesting read, but I have a really hard time believing Higgins's claim that officials never know which player is which because they don't have time to look up and see their faces, or whatever he said.
When I was playing hockey growing up, I never needed to see my teammates numbers, much less their faces, to tell who was who. Of course, basketball refs working 5 games a week aren't reffing the same players daily, but there also aren't all that many in a given game.
Obviously Higgins isn't going to say that certain players are treated differently than others, and it's probably not as big of an issue at the college level as it is in the pros (where guys are around a lot longer than four years) but still annoying to read.

One of the worst officials in college basketball. he has a lot of company You're right--and that is the problem. The amount of gambling the edited who officiate participate in is sickening. It's just never brought up because media only cares about winning/losing and not the spread--so they continue to get way with cheating.

I have no idea one way or the other, but would be curious to know on what basis you make such a strong (and damning) claim.

The worst thing about Higgins, Valentine, et al is that they actually get fired up to make the "big call". Watch how Timmy will come firing out from under the basket to make a big late game charge call.
Of course, it could be that he is just looking to make the sure the people who paid good money to watch him referee get what they paid for.

Read a newspaper or find out what the spread was for game 3. See who officiated the game 4. Do this for years Proof is in the consistent results of how officials are calling a game. Officials figure "if the team who is supposed to win does, who cares if they cover. Do you realize how AWFUL an opponent has to play to get blown out in today's game? Officials feel it's their duty to "help" the trailing team stay competitive and they officiate that way. They punish the more athletic teams to help less athletic teams, etc.....
