Does anybody want to win this league or does everybody want to win it? I'm sure the 'cats looked at the Rutgers-GU game and said, no way that will happen to us home. Wrong, Cheese-steak breath!

I can't believe you are insulting UConn by calling that an upset!

Best part of the game was hearing Bilas eviscerate yet another substandard team of officials. another hideously ugly Nova foul fest. Has anyone else noticed how badly Nova's bigs suck?
For Nova haters, Taylor king is a gift from God as he is both Duke level hateable and stinks out loud, yet always looks for his shot.

Really not that strange of a season. Villanova, Sryacuse and WV were all beneficiaries of the unbalanced schedule and the fact that the tougher conference games they had were HOME games. Look at the talent level on the floor last night:
Bigs: Edwards and the African trio for Conn is equal to Pena, Yarou, Gaylord King and Armwood.
Guards: Dyson & Walker are a notch below Reynolds, Fischer, Wayans but not by much.
Wing: Robinson, Coombs-Mcdaniel vs. Stokes, Redding , Cheek. Last night Coombs-Mcdaniel nailed 3 pointers. The wildly overrated Stokes did nothing, Redding is a glue guy and Cheek is a freshman.
With Calhoun back on the bench and the experience of Robinson, Dyson and Walker last night was not the upset it is purported to be. Go look at Nova's schedule and tell me who the hell they have beaten on the road or on neutral floors that makes them TOP 3 in the nation?

I can't believe you are insulting UConn by calling that an upset! Funny as a crutch, Dan. I expected to see some comment from you on this topic when we beat (but did not upset) Villanova. Maybe I missed it.

This is just flat out wrong with respect to Nova, as was shown in the thread discussing the schedules. Nova has GU, Cuse, Louisville, WV, Marquette and Pitt all on the road this year, matching our schedule. Nova probably has the toughest schedule in the conference, other than not having to play that powerful Rutgers team twice.

I just meant that when you start to think you have a handle on how the conference stacks up, you run into this past couple of weeks. Georgetown mauls Duke then loses to USF at home. Then gives Nova a beat down only to stumble against Rutgers. Louisville looks awful against West Va. but then shocks Syracuse on the Orange home floor. UConn, looking like they are just waiting for the season to end, puts out perhaps their best effort of the season and wins at Nova. Additionally, how many games has one team started out with a big -- 15, 16 point lead early -- only to then lose by double digits? it just seems like an especially odd year. But you are correct with the unbalanced schedule, you can't go purely by conference records alone.

My point was that 'Nova hadn't beaten several elite teams and proven itself to be a bonafide top 3 team in the country. Look at the talent of UCONN with Calhoun on the bench and tell me it's a huge upset that they beat FOULANOVA in Philly. A classic Top 3 team in most years is significantly better than Foulanova, Syracuse and Kentucky. Kansas imo is a legit Top 3 team of years past. Any team running out Yarou, King, Pena, Armwood and Sutton as their bigs and their biggest OOC wins are over Ole Miss, Maryland and St. Joes is not a juggernaut. Mild upset last night.

I can't believe you are insulting UConn by calling that an upset! I wouldn't dream of insulting either of these two fine programs. They seem to do an adequate job all by their lonesome. Query to Mod: When you talk to yourself, do you pretend that we are real people out here creating a virtual reality while in real reality we are just a Rod Serling repeat?
