Rutgers is 12-12 after a 70-62 win Tuesday against Caldwell College. (Yes, I had to look it up--it's a D-II school in northern NJ). The Scarlet Knights hit 11 threes and still won by only eight.
Anyway, it's back to the Big East for RU, which is 2-9 but has won its last two at home.

Would love if Georgetown could give a Valentine's Day present to all the lovely ladies out there and win this one.

Take no prisoners, starters.
Give the bench some playing time.

I was pleasantly surprised by Henry today. I hope he has the chance to get some minutes. I also hope we get Vee some minutes because Chris and Jason are both racking up some serious time.

The team is stuck in RI tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if they simply went down to NJ at this rate and prepared there. We probably could get some gym time from Sydney and JT3's connections in the area.

That was a great win at PC, and now we need to just take care of business at RU.
We are 6-0 so far vs the bottom 6 teams in the league. Let's make it 7-0, and then move on, cuz the schedule gets much tougher.

I want minutes for henry too he looked good tonight. Obviously has stuff to work on, but looked good out there. I don't know, maybe a glimmer, but saying he "looked good" is pushing it. 2 fouls in 5 minutes because ofm poor positioning on D, a rushed 12 footer - he did look a little more comfortable on offense. But I do agree that some more minutes against Rutgers would be a good thing, not giving up on him for this season.

maybe i just see things more positively(i'm a blatant optimist) But i thought his jump shot was fine, he didn't look out of position to me and was in good position to grab rebounds but got fouled by providence players. He had a nice block that got negated by a benimon foul. I just think he look much better than benimon did last night who I think was a big negative last night while henry was just neutral.

I'd like to see a final margin around 20, with Henry and Vee getting plenty of time. To me, the only question is why Fred Hill hasn't been let go midseason.

But I do agree that some more minutes against Rutgers would be a good thing, not giving up on him for this season. I thought he did fairly well. One of those fouls was completely on Benimon who lost his man and as a result Henry had to come over to help late and picked up the foul. Otherwise, in the good column Henry had a good board and got fouled while doing a great job fighting for another one. He also did a nice job freeing up free for a j. He's also the only intimidator we have inside besides Greg when he's on the floor. It was still a mixed bag for him but it was an improvement from early in the season when he was completely lost on d. By comparison, I though Jerrelle was awful yesterday and has struggled the past two or three days. Both of them clearly have the talent though to be useful contributors come tourney time.

Re Benimon: Let's not forget his contributions over the last month. Freshmen get tired legs in Feb-even Iverson- and they hit the wall. He is going to be fine.

Yeah, I don't mean to come off as down on Benimon. The guy has been crucial in terms of providing needed minutes from a big on the bench. He's also flashed enough potential that I've significantly increased my expectations of what he can become over his Gtown career.

What the heck was Rutgers thinking scheduling a D-II team in the middle of Big East play? Did somebody lose a bet or owe someone a favor?
Go in there and win by 15, Hoyas. Mostly because my prediction is for a 15-point win ;-).
Kenpom stats update on Rutgers: 166th in Offensive efficiency 145th in Defensive efficiency Best stat: 9th in the nation in shot blocking on D. Decent at not giving up FT opportunities. Worst stat: 327th in steals given up on O. Also atrocious at FT% and TOs given up.
Good times.

This could be a 32 minute game. Now, we just have to earn that privilege.
