I would imagine that a new AD coming in would want to review all sports. Though its hard to imagine there will be any accountability/momentum for change regarding negative trends in a sport like lax-
I guess if we're still getting the top recruits(others will have to jump in regarding recruiting quality trends) then one might look at the recent disappointing performance as cyclical. However; if our recruiting is beginning to slip it would seem that something would need to be done to stem the decline.
I don't really hold the AD fully responsible for instituting major change in the way things are approached, that has to come from DeGioia/Porterfield etc. They do not seem to want to approach non basketball athletics in much of a strategic way, which is unfortunate and limits to some degree the scope for action on the AD's part.

If the men and women don't make the NCAA's this may be one of the most disappointing underachieving years for Georgetown sports. Both soccer teams were poised to make the NCAA's and fell short, MBB, and now this. Ugh. Not a good year. At least women's basketball surpassed expectations and made it to the second round of NCAA's, the second best finish in school history. They seem primed to be good for years to come. I understand the cynicism, but hopefully some of our spring sports can make some noise down the stretch.

If the men win out will they get in? They'd be second in the big east with no bad losses and quality wins over harvard, Navy, ND, and Umass. If we had picked off one of Maryland, Cuse, Duke, or Loyola I think we'd be in. Our SOS and RPI are both top 10. Based on talk on lax power if we just beat providence and one ove nova and umass we're in. I'd feel a lot better with we get both.
What about the women. Had a slow start against incredible competition. If they Win out they're in since they would win the BE AQ, but if they win out the regular season but lose in the finals of the tournament are they still in? i think so. sos and rpi both very good

Hard to imagine, say we beat UMASS and Rutgers but lose on the road at Nova, that we'd be in a good position to get in. That would be a 9-5 record with no top-10 wins. Were we really that much worse last year, where we got snubbed? Also, when i fill out my GU prediction on this tool, how does it account for the performance of the other schools in their remaining games?

It uses the expected outcome. Notice the third button that says that. It is as if they used that.
There is a lot of talk about records and how they are used, well or badly, in conjunction with reputation. Hopkins for example has a ridiculous (in a bad way) record. They are likely to get in if they do something impressive this weekend. And they can.

That predictor says we are in as long as we win atleast 2 of the remaining 3, doesnt matter who. That would be nice but I feel like getting all 3 would be best!

Up 12-10 with 4 minutes left and then a turnover and two illegal procedure calls against the Hoyas. Now 12-12. Umass with the ball under a minute remaining.

ugh heart breaking loss ery typicla of this season. Sloppy turnovers killed up. If we win the next two we have a chance, but i wouldn't blame the committee for leaving us out the way we've played this season.

Women's game is live on CBS sports from the carrier dome.
If hoyas win they get the 1 seed and the BE regular season crown if they lose they're the 2 seed.
Either way both teams will play for the BET crown next week. Let's go Hoyas Crush Cuse!

Women up 6-5 at half. So even if the hoyas lose they'll still have a share of the regular season title. But lets win it out right.
