I wouldn't say the Duke game means nothing. It was still a good win. What really has me down is thinking about the significance of the Nova game. Even with a win, it's still a mediocre week. The optimist in me wants to think this will make the guys all the more hungry for Saturday, but I'm over that story line. It's February - this team should be building on every game - not regressing. I'm sure I'll feel better in the morning - a classic trap if ever there was one, but still a tough loss to take.

From what I am reading, it seems like many of you think if we do not beat Kansas, SU or Kentucky on the road, it is not possible to have beaten a good team. We freakin lost, it will be a resume building win for USF. So what?
How much time do you think the committee spends on mediocre losses versus big wins during the NCAA process? They want teams who have shown the ability they can beat anyone. So in NO WAY does a USF loss negate a convincing, nationally televised, president attended win against Duke. How many times do you think that win will come up when talking the Hoyas over the next month versus the USF loss?

here we go...the sky is falling.....we stink...not mentally tough....blah blah blah.
We'll be fine. Am I upset? Sure, because I always hate when the Hoyas lose but I'm encouraged enough by everything else I've witnessed this season. If this propels us to a win on Saturday, noone will care.

The Duke game will still weigh heavily with the Committee come Selection Sunday, and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know anything about college basketball.

I still think we're a good team, but right now we're 6-4 in the BE. Look at the BE standings. Five of our six wins came against the bottom five teams.

Right now the difference between 7-3 and 6-4 in the conference seems pretty huge.

The idea of the conference season is to get into the top 4 so as to get as many byes as possible. This loss doesn't help that. The win vs. Duke doesn't help either.
