(5 STAR) This kid has been to the Hilltop for visits and is a friend of Rakeem Christmas (top5 - 2011 prospect) .. very talented young man and great prospect. About 6'8 180lbs .. here's what Scouts.com's D. Telep had to say about Amile:
No. 5 Amile Jefferson, SF The next big thing to come out of Philadelphia (aside from Rakeem Christmas) is this guy. He’s multi-talented and we aren’t even sure what long term position he’ll occupy. He’s got some Lamar Odom ability.
From Northstarball.com: FEB NEWS ..
According to a source, both Amile Jefferson '12 and Devin Coleman '11 are expected to leave Friends Central (PA) after the year. Time will tell if this does indeed happen.

Telep's review from WV Jamfest:
"Amile Jefferson, PF, Team Philly: When we left the gym at 10 p.m., Wake Forest was three-deep, including head coach Jeff Bzdelik. He had that kind of a day. Jefferson’s work ethic and humility are trumped only by his talent and now production. Jefferson got his hands on everything and showed the package. He was awesome inside finishing plays and he’s turned into a versatile four man."

Another quick note from Telep at WV Jamfest, sounds like Amile is about to move up the rankings:
"Didn’t get to see him Thursday, but consensus is that Amile Jefferson has been terrific at this event."
According to Telep, "Daniel Ochefu vs. Amile Jefferson drew an afternoon crowd of Mike Rice, John Calipari and John Thompson. Assistants from Villanova, Duke, UNC, Oklahoma, Kansas, West Virginia and Pittsburgh were there."

From ESPN's coverage of adidas Nations event:
"Standout players Amile Jefferson 2012, PF, 6-8 Jefferson was active on both ends of the floor by finishing around the basket and rebounding. He ran the floor extremely well for easy baskets, which led to a 10-point second quarter against Team Europe. Jefferson worked the baseline and went to his half-hook off the glass over his left shoulder for many important baskets. He played with heart and emotion and was the key player in USA 2012's comeback win. Jefferson finished with 20 points and eight rebounds versus USA 2011.
Recruiting wise, Jefferson likes Villanova, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Syracuse, Miami, North Carolina and Duke."

If ever there was a kid perfect for the GU system, it's Amile. Jeff Green lite and just keeps getting better and better.

Anyone know why this kid's not going to be at MM? Has he committed elsewhere? Is there still a mutual love here?

Amile scored 21 points last night against Hill School. Friends' Central is 3-0 now.
Amile opened the season against Chestnut Hill with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals.

Amile has kind of fallen back in our own minds with this class, but:
Said he still hears from the staff and that has only increased (as well as hearing G'Town in Philly) since we landed Jabril. Doesn't have a list yet, that will happen in the spring when he starts taking visits. And Georgetown will 'definitely' be one of those visits at this point.
I imagine Villanova will be right there and Duke has also lingered in his recruitment. Believe Wake Forest really has tried to make him a priority. Most Big East/ACC schools are always mentioned with him.

Any word on our involvement with Jefferson? If Nova is going to take two of our top recruits, the least we can do is repay the favor once (plus they don't have any scholarships left).

They will make room for Jefferson or Anderson. Maybe even both. Sutton and Armwood are the unlucky kids in this situation. Cheeks leaving will have an effect on St. Ant players to Nova for sure -

Jefferson isn't even on Hoya radar--so that ship has sailed. Nova now--he was Duke before but now he's a Nova lean--will join his good friend Savon Goodman.
