Question: If you could reverse the results of this week's games, would you?
I would.
Beating Duke is nice, but, well, you know... At least we get another shot at Syracuse.

Huh? They made me very happy today, thank you very much.
It was hardly a flame post, pal. You can either answer, or you can ignore. Your choice.

Question: If you could reverse the results of this week's games, would you? I would. Beating Duke is nice, but, well, you know... At least we get another shot at Syracuse. Let me summarize the type of answers you should expect: YOU ARE STUPID. IF YOU DONT WANT TO WIN EVERY GAME THAN YOU ARE A COMMUNIST. HOW DARE YOU ASK QUESTIONS THAT DON'T INVOKE A SIMPLE "HOYAS RULE" COMMENT. LOCK THIS THREAD THIS IS CRAZY. Anyway, I would not trade this win for the Cuse game for because I think we will beat Cuse at home and I like the idea of having wins over Duke and Cuse in the same season. Also, at the time we signed up to play Duke 4 times in 5 seasons I did not think we would win 2 of the games. Splitting the series shows how far the program has come since JT3 took over.

YOU ARE STUPID. IF YOU DONT WANT TO WIN EVERY GAME THAN YOU ARE A COMMUNIST. That is wildly unfair to communists - lock this thread, or move it to Blue and Grey Agree that we have another shot at SU and should handle them at home, so getting wins over each is best. I would rather not have lost by 17 up there, but this win is not fungible

Agree with HibbertFor3. No, simply because we get at least one more shot at them this year.

yeah I probalby wouldn't make the trade. We have another shot at cuse. we're not expected to win @ cuse. We are expected to defend the home court against the wimps form the ACC. Plus how depressing would it have been to beat cuse then lose to Duke.

I would make it in a heartbeat, we have nothing to prove vs Duke whereas Syracuse has been giving us fits at the Carrier Dome for years. The pleasure of winning there would be enormous....plus this victory, although very sattisfying, didn t count for the Big East standings

No trade. I think the loss at Cuse is something that had to happen the way it happened. No better place to get your fire started than a whupping against the team you hate the most on their floor.

I think for Greg and the team, based on what happened last year in Cameron, the Duke win was very important. Maybe more important than winning in the Dome. It was in front of the President too. And let's be honest, while Syracuse is the higher ranked team, in terms of national recognition, beating Duke (the best team in the ACC) matters more right now. All that said, beating Syracuse is the sweetest of all wins for Georgetown fans. It isn't quite the same as Ohio State vs. Michigan football where that win can save a coach and a miserable season, but it is close, particularly if it is in the Dome.

No, beating duke in front of O'Bama will stick in people's memories for a long time. Even though Syracuse is a better team now than Duke, beating Duke is bigger for recruits + national recognition for the program. We get another shot to give Syracuse a beat down in a few weeks--who knows when we'll see Duke again.

I get the sense we are in direct recruiting competition with Duke moreso than Syracuse...but i might be wrong on that. We both appeal to kids who are looking at academics, at least.

No. We should beat Duke at home. And plus, I was at the game. It would be much more demoralizing to have to lose to Duke in person after waiting for hours in the cold than it was watching us lose to Cuse on TV. And like others have said, we get another chance to beat the Orange in our house in a couple weeks.
