Hope we recruit this kid. His name sounds like a hybrid of a soccer team and former Duke player. Despite it all, he looks like a latter day Anthony Randolph to me (a righty version) with room to grow. Good find here. Like the idea of a wide net with McKnight and Abraham - options are good.

Can anyone offer any insights into the reputation and record of the Quality Education Academy in preparing students for a reasonably rigorous undergraduate educational experience?
I seem to recall someone disparaging QEA based on its title in connection with another recruit--perhaps the young man headed to play for Calipari's Kentucky franchise--but I wondered if there was more information beyonds its name and context to judge its bona fides as an educational institution. Beyond that, do we know anything about Juvante's educational background before he metriculated at QEA?

I mean i tend to be skeptical of places with names that try and describe themselves like that. Like the democratic republic of the congo. It's like who are you trying to convince? I have no proof, but the name raises questions in my mind of just how quality the education there could be.

Yeah, it's highly unlikely that anyone's done well grade-wise there.

I am not sure we should fault the player (although I also have questions), since he may take his work seriously. Egerson, who went to HS in the produce aisle of a supermarket, it seemed, nonetheless kept his head above water at GU.

Anyone who's ever worked at a supermarket can tell you that memorizing those PLU numbers can be damn tricky.

So tricky you don't need a [text]book to figure it out.

that was me who disparaged it, saying I believe that I doubted it was either Quality or Education oriented. I made that up, based on the same feelings expressed above - just seems like they are trying to hard to convince you of something. I have absolutely NO INFORMATION on which to base my slanderous assumptions and I do not actually, really, truly believe it is a bad school, I just like anonymously bashing things that I don't understand:)
kid looks like a player.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the school's website: www.qeschools.org/index.htmIt does not inspire much confidence. There are some Reddic YouTube clips available there too, although they may be duplicates.

Seems to be basically a boy's basketball factory. Athletic director is the head basketball coach and the athletics page is only men's high school basketball even though there are female students and there are elementary and middle school classes. Size of the "staff" indicates that this is a very small school. No mention of accreditation or backgrounds of teachers. Only face shots of the "staff" were provided. There is a smattering of "praise Jesus" and what you get is a private, freedom of religion, "you pay -- you stay" curriculum. Most of these "schools" have a short shelf life, but it only takes a few committed educators to make a difference.

South Carolina has apparently joined the mix for this kid, he is generating a lot of buzz down here (I live in Columbia, SC).

When did the head of a school become a CEO? Aren't they Principals, Presidents or Deans? They also need to spell check that site. It seems like the average height is about 6'6 for that program. Things sure have changed since I went to high school.

Do we think Juvante will decide before Moses?

I don't even know if we're recruiting Juvonte. We were on his list recently, but he gave another list in early March, and we were not on it.
