Has everyone seen this? Absolutely hilarious. A bunch of guys playing ball in their driveway do a spot-on re-enactment of the Laettner catch-and-shoot against Kentucky, complete with the black friend weeping like a baby ala Thomas Hill. If that's not funny enough (and it is), then Coach K then comes running out of the hedges, celebrates with them for a few seconds before running off. I rewound it ten times the first time I saw it. Classic.

You know, it took me at least 5 times seeing that ad before I realized that they were re-enacting the Laettner catch-and-shoot from '92. And didn't realize until now that they were making fun of Thomas Hill. Ha.
That being said, its still Krylsjdflsadfndsfasd and Duke. Which automatically knocks it down like 73 pegs.

I am waiting for the extended version of that ad.
The one that shows the guy pretending to be Kentucky's Aminu Timberlake lying on the driveway while the guy pretending to be Christian Laettner drives his foot into his chest, but somehow gets only a T and doesn't get ejected.
Anyone know when that version is going to air?

Well put, Boz, well put....
Or the ad that shows K harassing Duke student media not once but twice (that we know of!) over his illustrious career. Can you imagine the hue and outcry if JT2 ever pulled that kind of stunt with the Hoya or the Voice?!?!??!??!?!

Can you imagine the hue and outcry if JT2 ever pulled that kind of stunt with the Hoya or the Voice?!?!??!??!?! I'm sure the Voice would write some annoying, whiny article about it, calling on the GU Solidarity Committee to investigate labor violations against JT2 because he might have bought one pair of sneakers that could have possibly been made in Thailand at a wage lower than here in the US. Then, there would be a mass protest outside of McDonough with all of the Solidarity committee, H*yas for Choice, and all those other groups. And it would smell really bad, because none of them would have showered in like 6 months. But it would have been one cool collection of greasy dreadlocks, let me tell you. Or maybe this is stretching it a little bit....

How about a commercial where a fake Myron Piggie hands fiShut upls of cash to a fake Corey Magette in the driveway, then Coach K comes out of the hedges and smiles at the NCAAs, and no disciplinary action is ever taken against their golden boy coach! That would be a fantastic commercial!

Along the lines of what DaHoya posted, how about some ads where:
1. Some guys are donating plasma to get some money and Coach K sets them up with 6 figure jobs because they have sons who are talented players--Duhon and Boozer come to mind??
2. One of the kids on a playground takes a charge and it's not called, out of nowhere comes Coach K screaming "That's a BLEEPING FOUL, you BLEEPING BLEEP" and after the game is over he runs over to the players who wouldn't call a foul and yells "YOU BLEEPING KILLED US" over and over. --see his reaction against UConn in last year's Final 4.

Nice catch, WBH. How about adding a scene with Krzyzewski deciding to have elective back surgery during the middle of a season in which he fields his weakest tem in years, thus foisting off inevitable losses on his long-suffering assistant, while maintaining his all-important won/loss record.

I knew that they were re-enacting that play...but it took me awhile to realize that the Black guy was playing Thomas Hill...I burst into laughter once I realized it...my wife thought I was crazy...

I just saw the ad again...
On top of the Black guy with his hands on his head like Thomas Hill, did you notice the guy taking the shot running back down the court with his arms open like Laettner?
Classic stuff...

...to aggy for digging out and resurrecting the original thread from several pages deep.
ClutterPolice would be very proud.
;D
the commercial - like many on ESPN - is very well done

...to aggy for digging out and resurrecting the original thread from several pages deep. I decided that explaining the whole commercial for the benefit of those that forgot about or never read the original thread would have been more work than digging it up... Laziness definitely prevailed in this one...
