Did Bradley Cooper just fire a tank while free falling through the atmosphere?

Did Bradley Cooper just fire a tank while free falling through the atmosphere? Is McG involved in this movie somehow? What a disaster this will be. But then again, I'm one who never really understood why The A-Team had such staying power culturally. It's a pretty good college pep band song, but that's about it as far as I'm concerned. Some things -- not all things, but definitely some things -- really should just be left in the 80s where they died.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.
This seems like your traditional summer movie. The original was not well-known for its realism (seventeen billion bullets fired over the course of the series, and around three people died - even after helicopter crashes, everybody would be OK, if slightly injured). It should have lots of action, good quips, and be entirely forgettable. I can't wait to see it.
Oh, and McGruber is coming out later this year.

Box is just mad that Georgetown didn't offer a class in "firing a tank while free falling through the atmosphere" while he was on the Hilltop.

I am just waiting for the "Small Wonder" movie adaptation, starring Dakota Fanning.

Boz, I think Fanning is getting too old to play Vicki. Maybe Abigail Breslin.
How about a remake of Bosom Buddies? I really think you could explore some issues with a remake of that show - especially if you got HBO to pick it up.
Does anyone feel like there's something wrong with having someone else play Mr. T's part? I mean replacing George Peppard and Dirk Benedict, fine, but I don't think I'll be able suspend disbelief enough to believe anyone else in the role of BA Barracus, because Mr. T was essentially playing Mr. T.

Oh, and McGruber is coming out later this year. Are you saying this because it is guaranteed to be worse? I mean, what could go wrong with taking a 20 second SNL sketch with one repeating joke and trying to do it for 90 minutes?

Haha, that last part with the tank was the only part that can convince me that this will share any of the characteristics that made the A-Team so great. What's with the darkness of the entire rest of the trailer? What made the A-Team was the breeziness of of all the violence--everything was treated with a wink and a smile (except for when Murdoch got hurt!). From the cuts to the soundtrack to the voiceover, this trailer points to a movie that strikes the wrong tone. The tank in the air, though--if that's the movie, then it'll be great.
Also, why in the world didn't they use the original intro voiceover (minus the 1972)? Why a "facility" instead of a "stockade," etc...? Finally...where was the theme song!?!

I hope that the trailer made it seem a little dark to make it cool. BA's reaction to the vehicles gives me hope. Oh, and they did something similar with the "soldiers of fortune" term. Strange. One of the really interesting issues raised by that is that they're supposedly doing the backstory so that the A-Team are now "Iraq War" veterans, not Vietnam. One of the keys for the old show was how it treated military members from a horribly unpopular conflict very positively, a difference from what was then the usual pop culture assumption of Vietnam War veterans as bad people. The zeitgeist for the Iraq War(s) around the political spectrum has been that the soldiers were honorable, even if the conflict wasn't. It will be interesting to see if this changes the tone at all. For the sake of all concerned, I'm hoping that there's something along the lines of "Haven't seen you since Operation Titan Zephyr in Iraq" right before someone grasps someone else's hand in a manly fashion and they go back to plotting explosions.

A couple notes on this Georgetown-A-team connection.
Bradley Cooper (CAS 97, right?) as Face? Wow. Mike Birbiglia has his comedy show van painted like the "A Team" van...coincidence?
And on the "Small Wonder" thing. I went to high school with Vicki the robot. Nice girl. Teased incessantly, naturally, for her role on the show, but hey, I bet that role paid for Tiffany's college or something like that.

Did you know the kid that played Jaime grew up to front the Smashing Pumpkins? I read that on the internet, so it must be true.

Just saw the trailer. From the Hilltop to shooting down a plane with a tank while it's falling through the sky after the plane you were in gets all blown up. And let's not forget getting to "manually experience and inspect" the source of Scarlett Johansson's power and fame and then getting a lap dance from Jennifer Connelly. Hoya Saxa, Mr. Cooper.
I don't care if it's good or if it's bad. I have to see this.

But you're still going, right? BTW I'm also not buying Neeson as Hannibal. He definitely gets the signature line all wrong in the trailer. Deal breaker right there.
