Barring a complete meltdown; Hoyas win this one by at least 15. Need some Vee-Je in this one. Does Henry Sims still play for GU? I haven't seen him lately.

He played 13 minutes last night. I expect a lot of minutes from the bench in this game. Should be a cake walk, but I hope our team doesn't think that.

DePaul had almost an entire week off. That's ridiculous. Who sets up these schedules?

Depaul might be the worst team in a major conference. There is no shot too open for them to make. I watched the Mississippi State game and this might be the worst shooting team we've played all year.
Have to like this one being a road game too. That's one less we have to worry about.

Don't care who we're playing, any game in the Big East is tough to win, and a road game is even tougher to win. Let's take this one game at a time and hopefully get to 2-0.

Don't care who we're playing, any game in the Big East is tough to win, and a road game is even tougher to win. Let's take this one game at a time and hopefully get to 2-0. We have been quite the schneid-breakers historically (St. Johns, South Florida) so we can't take anything for granted. That said, an effort equal to St. Johns wins going away. Let's hope for more than that as the team looks to continue to improve.

People can throw out all the coachspeak they want, but DePaul lost to American and that isn't even their worst loss this season. This team is terrible.

If I'm reading HoyaProspectus right, it looks like DeP is even worse than they were last year at this point. Their best win this season is Northern Iowa. Their worst loss? Take your pick between American or Florida Gulf Coast. They're one of the worst teams in D-I in 2pt shooting and pretty much THE worst in FT%. However, it seems they play only so-so D.
I'm looking for some quality minutes from Henry, Hollis, Vee, and Jerelle.

I agree with Coast. It's time for the Bench to see some prolonged playing time, good or bad. Don't yank 'em at the first slip up. We will certainly need them down the road. They need playing time. More importantly, the Hoyas can not go sleep on this one, starters or bench. There are no sure W's in the Big East.
GO HOYAS!!! Beat the Demons.

If Syracuse can struggle against a pretty woeful Pitt team at home, I am pretty sure the Hoyas can struggle at DePaul. Call it coachspeak or whatever, but I wont take anything for granted with Big East basketball.

DePaul was a different team early with Mac Koshwal. They were 3-1, barely losing to Tennessee, and beating St. Joe's and Northern Iowa. Those aren't huge wins, but they were a sign that DePaul might have been better.
Then Koshwal went down. He is their Greg Monroe this year (don't believe me? -- look at his assist rate) and he was an absolute beast on the boards.
Unfortunately for DePaul, they have about two more game-ready Big East players.

Big difference between pitt and depaul. Of course, but Pitt had looked pretty awful this season. My guess is that Syracuse was as big a favorite as we will be tomorrow.

Big difference between pitt and depaul. The key difference being that one team is DePaul, and the other team is not DePaul. Pitt has lost only to Texas and Indiana this year, while DePaul has lost to American and Florida Gulf Coast among others. I say this all while not having seen a DePaul game this year, of course. For anyone who has (or has the patience to find a video online -- I tried but it didn't seem like ESPN or the DePaul website had anything archived), I'm very curious about Eric Wallace's free throw stroke. He's a wing and was a fairly highly regarded high school player, and is a Macklin-esque 6 of his last 30 from the free throw line. We need to send this guy to the line at least once to satisfy my curiosity.

Pitt seems to "own" Syracuse for some reason. They have now won something like the last 13 out of 14 between the two. We should find out what they are drinking and get some.
