NOW can we stop bashing Chris?
Who still doesn't believe in the kid? Anyone?
Nice job Hoyas! Great effort throughout. I loved it.
Happy New Year to all. Best wishes for a great 2010!

I always believed in him...I called him the second best pg in the league last season, and now, as I've said many times before, there's not one pg in the big east that I would take over him.
RDF has always believed in him as well.

Ehh... give me Scottie Reynolds or Kemba Walker any day of the week. He made great decisions tonight and settled the team down and had a hand in every big play.

He is a stud. The key here is JT3 seems to have taken the reigns off him and is letting him do his thing. We all knew he had the talent, I felt like coach was holding him back. Now he is just playing ball and that is what we need most.

Sleepy,
You mean Kemba, "I'm quick but I can't shoot" Walker?
Or Scottie, "I can shoot but do nothing else" Reynolds?
We both know that we want Chris, "I can do both equally" Wright.....hahaha

In his defense, Kemba hit a huge 3 last night. He's a better shooter than he was last year. Scottie (still) doesn't know. Scottie doesn't know.

A couple observations on Chris. The fact that he is not the guy bringing the ball up every time -- is great for him. He alternates with Jason and Austin. This allows him to do some other things within the offense. The other thing -- is that his defense was awesome tonight. He is able to switch off on the perimeter extremely well. Thought that was one of the main keys of the game tonight.

The most underrated thing about Chris is that he's the best cutter on this team. That routinely gets him 6-8 points per game.

Nope nope Daytona, it was routinely said on this board he can't do anything without the board. Thats why he happens to get those points, because his defender knows he can't do anything without the ball so he guards someone else. Walker has improved his three point shooting but not his decision making or passing or ability to lead. When Chris' shooting is on the way it was tonight, he is almost unstoppable. But what impressed me most was the way he kept a clam head and never forced the game, even when we went down. We ran the offense the whole game and didn't abandon it when times got rough like we did last season. And we and the team saw the results. That is key IMO.

I've been very slow to come around on Chris but these last few games are making me a believer. His decision making seems so much better. He seems to know when to turn it on and when to pull back. I love the man game he plays with Austin on the perimeter, ususally leads to a good look for Free. Love the hard cuts to the hole without the ball. No lazy passes today.

Chris was absolutely unstoppable early in the game and racked up 14 scintillating points plus a couple of assists and steals. And then JT3 pulled him, presumably for a rest, when we had a 10-12 point lead. St J's outscored us from that point on, and Chris was much, much quieter after he came back in. I guess what I'm saying is that, while he was indeed spectactular for an important period of time, he then became human, and so did the Hoyas as a result. I'm not complaining, but I'm giving him a B+, not an A+, for the night.

I'm not complaining, but I'm giving him a B+, not an A+, for the night. B+ is an excellent grade, and I know I'm just quibbling here, but his 151.7 Offensive Rating (ORtg at hoyaprospectus.blogspot.com/) for the game is off the charts outstanding for someone who used almost 20% of available possessions. For that alone, I give him an A for offense. As well, though he scored "only" 7 pts in the second half, I thought his overall play was superb. He just did not score as much as he did in the first half. Second half line: 2/3 from 2, 0/0 from 3, and 3/3 from the line.

Yes. And ask Vee, Hollis and Henry to take a couple of shots while they're on the court too.
