I'm surprised this hasn't been talked about.....what's been the hold up on selecting a new AD? Was there a time table given?

I don't think there's been a timetable given, but folks have discussed that we may make a hire during winter break. Failing that, we'll probably have to wait for summer.
Hopefully we're allowed to pay the eventual AD enough to attract a solid candidate with AD experience and patience to deal with GU bureaucracy and counterintuitive fundraising restrictions. We may also be fighting perceptions now that we had an up-and-coming AD leave for DE of all places, football or not.

The only information I've heard is that "It's moving forward...."

Wouldn't it be great if Georgetown had an alumnus who had just retired from running a professional sports league?

I had thought of the same individual upon reading the article. I assume his plate is probably pretty full with chairing the Bd of Directors of GU thru 2011.
Wonder if a guy like Ron Blaylock would have any interest, altho it'd be tough to take that pay cut! (I guess if he had any interest, he wouldn't be doing it for the money - but I think he could be a great fundraiser!)
