No Newsday sir Tony...I saw him play on TV. He is long and athletic. Playing no defense in high school? That never happens with elite kids does it? He would be perfect at Syracuse. He is the type of front court kid we need here.

He is the type of front court kid we need here. We who? Who we? You are not a Hoya fan. Like you said, perfect fit at Cuse - slow footed = tailor made for their zone. Guess the truth is out - you're a Syracuse troll and an embarrassment to the Bx!

Sorry for not clarifying post before and this is getting off topic from Moses...but I agree with the comments though. I meant less to short-change Austin than to question from the PF position the driving/handling skills of Greg compared the Jeff/Brandon (neither who had great handles themsleves, but we far superior in termss of quickness, willingness to mix it up and drive hard from the perimeter). Vaughn is our center, but Greg is a 6'10" player who passes and can (or should!) finish right around the rim. As for that PF that is both a perimenter threat from outside and can dribble past other 6'8" tweeners for the flush, def feel Jeff/Brandon had more of that in their game, and we don't have anybody in that mold now (save a developing Hollis). Is it necessary for our offense/defense? Maybe not. But these are the type of guys on WV roster and the first time watching JTIII team where we dont have someone like that (I'll give DaJaun mixed results here - he was that guy put picked his spots a bit too often).

TonyDeals why such harsh words for el Bronxie? Is he allowed to have a difference of opinion without verbal hostility? I have been on this site for over 10 years and you call me a Syracuse fan....lol

This thread is about MOSES .. and I hope Pearl doesn't $way Mr. Abraham to the S.E.C.(or that H.S coach of his who seems to be enjoying the recruitment more then MOSES) For those not impressed by Moses , your dead wrong. Just him roaming the middle will cause havoc esp. on guards. He's a rebounding machine and a shot blocker .. Rakeem is further along offensively - but Moses would give us a edge down low and won't be pushed around. I hope we can land him.
as for Tobias ..
Tobias is NOT athletic - point blank period. LONG? .. yes .. SOFT? .. from what NYC AAU coaches have said - VERY (A good friend of mine coaches the Westchester Hawks and knows NYC Hoops) That kid Pinkston(sp) the NOVA recruit , Was doing Tobias dirty. I watched that game a couple times. Tobias - will be good when he fills out and I'm not saying I wouldn't want him here - but I don't see him as being a instant impact player in the Big East - we play "D" here. THAT'S WHY HE CHOSE TENN . . . besides , the NY media/fans and pressure would've ate his ass alive.

Definitely need another big for next year. Glad that he's making the trip up here, instead of just committing after a big Tennessee win.

Once again, please keep on topic. Poster-on-poster bickering to establish whose tenure as a Hoya fan is longest or strongest is not what we are looking for.

I think Moses was at the Duke game this year .. so he knows exactly what it feels like when things go right! This is where he needs to be .. And Rakeem should be next after we seal the deal with M.A.

If young Mr. Abraham chooses a school and it turns out not to be GU, I would hope that no one posts that III let him get away. It appears we're recruiting him with as much zeal as we can muster. But ultimately the decision as to where he decides to go to school and why he makes that choice is entirely his. All we can do is make our best case. I'm confident we have and will. I find it ridiculous that someone would characterize III as simply "letting" a kid go elsewhere.
Also, for those who think that Big John is making a renewed effort to impact our recruiting, fact is he's been making his presence felt in that regard for some time. There just hasn't been any public knowledge of that like the article that surfaced re: Abraham.

Losing out on kids you should land is a referendum on the state of the program and what people outside the program think of you.

Losing out on kids you should land is a referendum on the state of the program and what people outside the program think of you. Why should we land Moses? I'm with avantguard. Too many people think of recruiting like a video game. A player can't have preferences, like certain aspects, etc. It is less in the hands of the recruiting than the player.
