I could have sworn we offered Moses, according to a rivals article I read.

JTIII will play as many people as earn minutes.

If you look at rivals, it usually has each school giving about 10-20 offers to players in a class. The math doesn't work out. For examaple, rivals says we have offered Gbinije and Chol. I highly doubt either of them have firm offers from us at this point. So just a word of caution. www.zagsblog.com/2010/02/23/moses-abraham-to-decide-soon/Big John is going to watch the kid! "At this point, Boncore conceded that Georgetown may hold a slight advantage over the other schools. “Georgetown has gone beyond what I would expect,” Boncore said. Boncore said John Thompson Sr. often comes by on his own. “Coach Thompson Sr. made it a point to come see a lot of Moses’ games. That’s made a big impression. He’s just a big basketball fan. He really likes Moses because the way Moses plays reminds him of Patrick [Ewing], defense, intimidation, clogging up the middle,” Boncore said. Georgetown coach John Thompson III also visits with his brother, Ronny. “They’ll play a game on CBS and all of a sudden the whole family’s here a couple hours later. Ronny Thompson. They bring the whole family. They really seem like they want to take care of him,” Boncore said. Notice another Nigerian in the class of 2011, Gabriel Williams, who is mentioned in the article.

I don't agree. If that recruit brings quality to the team, he will play. Check the Duke minutes (6 "big" players get more than 10 minutes). There's plenty of minutes to go around. Coach will be able to keep the bigs fresh, out of foul trouble and throw different looks. We will be a tall, athletic, experienced and deep team: the perfect mix for a possible Championshp team. Why do we think a raw freshman would play 10-15 minutes if he were, at the very least, behind Monroe, Vaughn and Lubick? Because we've never had that kind of depth under JT3.

I fail to see how Duke's rotation has any relevance to the minutes a potential recruit would get in his freshman season at Georgetown.

Is there any evidence during his tenure at Georgetown that JT III will play 5 bigs a minimum of 10-15 minutes? 4 bigs 10-15 minutes? We have major depth issues this year and Sims can barely touch the floor. Why do we think a raw freshman would play 10-15 minutes if he were, at the very least, behind Monroe, Vaughn and Lubick? And that's if he were to beat out Bennimon and Sims, which is somewhat unlikely. Benimon, a raw freshman, beat out Sims and Nikita for PT. We need TWO bigs whether Greg stays or not. 1. We need depth next year 2. We need to DEVELOP kids for the Following year. We can't keep thinking we will recruit rookies in 2011 for the 2011/12 season. We should have some kids who are developing -- all the time. Frankly, I am a little disappointed that Hollis has not been as much of a factor as I thought he'd be. We desperately need someone who can come in off the bench and ADD to our team, not just barely hold the fort. Think DJ Owens and Patrick Ewing Jr.

It's possible that Greg may have already made a decision and advised III thereof. In any event, we definitely need another big for next year.
I would look forward to seeing Moses part the Orange Sea and drown all of Pharoah Boheem's troops.

What's all the "we" and "advisor" stuff? Sounds a little Calipari... Plus, Kentucky is listed for all the mentioned players.

I fail to see how Duke's rotation has any relevance to the minutes a potential recruit would get in his freshman season at Georgetown. Shows how a quality frontcourt freshman (Plumlee) can come in and contribute more than 10 minutes (15 mins) in a crowded quality frontcourt (Singler with 36, Zoubek with 16, Thomas with 25, and Plumlee with 17 mpg) of a quality, experienced team (Top Ten team). Earning his minutes is up to the freshman. Obviously, in this case, the freshman has earned the minutes. BTW, I'm not counting Kelly, who has the same mpg and ppg as Sims, and Czyz for discussion purposes.

Are you kidding me? If Big John really said that then forget Mo Walker, and sign this kid asap. Also article said that another 6'9" Nigerian wants to follow him next year. Can you say Mourning and Mutumbo?

I'm really not that bothered that we fight with Kentucky/Calipari for recruits. 1) They are usually the best players in the nation and of course they want to try to play for the best team 2) Gives us a little bit of leeway in recruiting. Calipari breaks SO many rules, it probably makes a legit/upfront recruitment seem like a breeze. 3) Any players with some bit of moral compass being recruited by both Calipari and JTIII will obviously turn and SPRINT toward JTIII. Just some thoughts that came to me (not my own policy but just thought of it, esp #2)

Education aside, given the choice of playing in Rupp arena for a very high profile like UK has a heck of a lot of appeal if I was a 18 year old kid.

It appears Joe Boncore, the "advisor" to Abraham and the rest mentioned in Zagoria's article, is a former assistant coach at Good Counsel.

Creepy Crean probably wanted to wait when he could be pimping something like the "PT BARNUM" of CBB he is. Must be: 1. Buy tickets and get to bathe in Tom Coverdale's pool of sweat night OR 2. Buy tickets and a beverage for more then your family and get a chance to coach the team--as all Creepy Tom does is act like a male cheerleader on sideline. OR 3. Those that buy season tickets at the game--will get to make out with his wife--who looks like Jim Harbaugh in drag-(Creepy's wife is Harbaugh's sister) which appeals to Colts fans as well as Hoosiers. Come one, come all, and most of all--come on down recruits. We're getting Creepy in Crimson and CREAN. (now that slogan actually exists--sadly) Any kid who wants to take part in what PT Barnum is selling--needs to watch a Tom Arnold movie marathon, and then enter any Drug/Alcohol Awareness program to be examined.

Both of whom were five year players! The DJ Owens and Pat Ewing Jr. that everyone remembers were Seniors and Grad Students, effectively.
