I don't know if it is big trouble.
Maymon's dad is crazy psycho. Much like Tobias Harris' dad, apparently. The type that wants to coach the team.
Apparently, ten games into a season where Marquette has been hit by injuries and other issues, he was unhappy with his freshman son's role.
That's what the Marquette boards are saying. However, it's also consistent with what a lot of people were saying about the family before they got to Marquette as well (Marquette fans refused to believe it, of course).
That's why you don't go after kids with parents like this.

Reads like the kid had an injured transcript.

Possibly that, too.
Also, I will say -- there was a lot of talk when he committed (and other kids, too) that Williams promised starting spots and PT.
That's a huge no-no. There will always be a situation where you have to either break your word to that kid or bench/sit someone who doesn't deserve it.

Considering the possible ramifications of the Big10 taking a BE school and the possibility of the BE splitting (all speculative of course) it is not good if Marquette begins to sink in relevancy. They need to be at the top of their game if the BE splits. Gtown, Nova, Marquette, and Xavier or something similar would form a very nice core for a Basketball only BE-lite conference, but not with Marquette the way it is now.

Putting Georgetown in a basketball-only Catholic league like that is a ticket to athletic deemphasis.

Ive often seen gtown and nova mentioned as a team that the football schools would want to keep with them in a split. Would georgetown go with such a set up and abandon the providences and setonhalls of the world?

Would georgetown go with such a set up and abandon the providences and setonhalls of the world? If it meant they got a kick back from Football revenues, hell yes. The thing i dont like about the possible split is losing Cuse, not so much providence or hall. Nova would be nice to keep also. And really, over the life of the big east, Nova and Gtown are the two non-fb schools to keep their programs very profitable.

Quote from dad kind of says it all -
"We've just asked for a (scholarship) release so we can get out of here, because it ain't working out."
