This is pretty disgusting -- I don't mind the fact that they're running a feature on Dino Gregory for the mediocre turtle fans, because that's pretty standard.
But running a piece on Jeff Allen winning the ACC player of the Week (and highlighting it on the WaPo.com front page) while ignoring Greg's BE player of the Week, not too mention mention by ESPN as the national player of the week, is disgusting.
And to even miss the ODU game while picking up the William & Mary vs. Vassar -- seriously, Vassar has a team?

There is a Liz Clarke feature on the WVU rifle team.

it makes even it more sad that barker davis will be gone soon. No love from wapost and therefore will be no real local coverage of the best local team. -m

I guess you can email Kornheiser's show; he's always willing to complain about the Wall Street Post

I e-mailed Liz and here is her response - not satisfactory as far as I am concerned - it does have the sports editors name and e-mail
We don't typically update schools' ascent in the polls. I'm quite aware Georgetown plays Old Dominion Saturday. That's why the story about the game runs Saturday; not Tuesday. The college sports editor is Matt Bonesteel (bonesteelm@washpost.com), if you'd like to voice further complaint. I am responsible for coverage of Hoyas alone; not relative prominence of Hoyas vs. Terps, Liz

You get the feeling Liz might not like us Hoya fans that much?
Possibly because we bash her pretty much weekly for being a fairly lousy reporter and a mere shadow of Barker Davis. That could have something to do with it.
You gotta' trust me on this one, Liz. You do a really nice Hoya feature and you will be shown the love. I'm still waiting......

To be honest, her story about the disbanding and resurgence of the WVU rifle team is pretty well written, for a WaPo story about redneck stuff anyway.
I do get the impression that she thinks the Hoyas beat is beneath her though ;-)

I think the Hoyas beat has been an afterthought for the Post for years now, at least in how they assign reporters. Usually, it seems, papers assign college beats to younger, up and coming reporters, who "graduate" on to the pro teams. At the Wall Street Post, we get reporters like Liz Clarke and Ken Dellinger, who have been around forever and seem to get put on the Georgetown beat just to have someone covering the team.

Yep, and probably the best Post beat reporter that we've had in the last several years, Camille Powell, seems to be splitting duties between Terps women's basketball and Navy football these days.

We're not good enough to be top 10 because we wanna fly beneath the radar, and when we fly beneath the radar at the WaPo, we wanna be covered like we're top 10. Personally, given the afterthought Georgetown athletics is to the WaPo, the WaPo is basically an afterthought to me. Seems fair.

Well, some of the bashing is unwarranted.
But seriously, 50% of her articles have a factual error in them. Maybe the WaPo has just stopped factchecking (yes, yes, ed/vado/boz, etc., insert easy political joke here), but they are often pretty obvious errors that could have been mitigated by checking hoyabasketball.com.
