Every other thread has its share of vitriol and negativism so this is the solace for the rest of us. We're young and talented. We don't know what that translates to yet but it really doesn't matter. Our team consists of Hoyas. I want to see them improve and mature and do well. Doing well, however, is relative. Not a one of us is expecting a national championship nor should we. Let's focus on what we're doing right. Like Hollis killing it last game. Chris making sweet dishes. Jason looking like the same player but 3 years older. Greg going to his right and dropping dimes. Free dropping weight and showing off all of the facets of his game. Julian showing others how to box out. Henry showing the excitement that comes with being new to the floor in a significant way. Come on Hoyas!

I expect us to run the table each year. Predicting GU losses before the tipoff is wrong. I'm telling you guys, it's wrong.

The Hoya players are good enough, they and the rest of the student body are smart enough, and, goshdarnit, everybody hates and fears Georgetown.

We can win every game but will probably not ( just a dose of reality not negativity). I am very, very happy with the progress Julian has made - this year he is and will be a baller. He is going to fill a void that we HAD - the more he plays the more he'll improve. I like his attacking the basket without putting the ball on the floor. The key will be Sims. Also Jerelle needs to give us quality minutes otb - cause no harm and snag some of those OR and putbacks. The guards and forwards are AWESOME so far and Greg is the man. If it all clicks the sky is the limit.

I like how guys appear to be starting to settle into the roles they're good at -- Monroe as facilitating point-forward, Chris as cutting/slashing drive-and-dish-or-it-in guard, Jason as deep threat and long defender, Freeman as hit-it-from-anywhere guard/fwd, Hollis as energy guy & scoring threat + long defender, Julian as the big body on the block getting boards & added pts, Henry swatting shots into the second row, Vee showing great poise for a frosh + scoring ability; Nikia hitting a trey, and even Stepka & Dougherty bringing the energy and knowledge of the system.
With the weapons we have (and the differences between them) this team could go far!!

I see Greg dropping dimes like the court's a Salvation Army bucket.
I see Jason and his Go-Go-Gadget arms ripping down rebounds, intercepting passes and taking the ball to the hole.
I see Henry blocking shots into rows even the DC lottery T-shirt launcher can't reach.
I see Julian sending every Big East big man home with a Vaughn-shaped bruise.
I see Chris driving so fast he lays down flame trails and winds up in 1955.
I see Austin taking so many shots from so many places that everyone in attendance loses a de facto game of HORSE.
I see hanging heads on the opposing bench whenever Hollis comes off ours.
I see Vee. I see Vee shoot for three. Three, Vee, Three.
I see Jerrelle make a grand debut the way Chris did his freshman year.
I see points on the board for Stepka, Dougherty and Nikita (and this time, more points than fouls).
I see a good season ahead, I see growth even this early, and sure, I see room for improvement, but that's just what we'll do, improve. Let's watch this team grow into something really special.

IF the hoyas keep up the energy and keep running the offense smoothly we'll go far.
