Last year we won 100-38. If we don't exceed that margin this year our season's over! In all seriousness, I hope Julian and Sims both get significant minutes and start building a little confidence in their game. Savannah State is bad but that's not saying we can't use this game to work on some of issues and gain some offensive rhythm.

I'd like to see Henry and Hollis work out some issues, Julian make some shots, and see at least 5 minutes on the court for Vee and Nikita. Since Benimon re-injured his ankle, it looks like we won't see him out there for another couple of weeks.

Need Vee to get significant playing time. We are gonna need him down the stretch when things get real. He needs to be acclimated by that time so this little stretch of games would be perfect for him to begin getting his feet wet.

I enjoy the fact that there is never even the slightest amount of variance in the level of urgency that lic applies to each game.
That makes me smile.
I would, however, not nominate our friend for Secretary of Homeland Security or anything. ;D

Assuming a similar result, I'd like to see Vaughn, Sims, Sanford, and Hollis (and Benimon if healthy) all get at least 20 minutes, the more the better.

I agree with most --- (1) i'm glad we have a cupcake on whom to work some things out and (2) hope to see more run for sims/vaughn/hollis/vee.
What I really want to see is: more A and less TO, better rebounding (and limiting opp offensive RB), better shooting percentage.

I don't want moaning and groaning, if we win by less than 50.

If anyone is going to be in Savannah for the game and interested in meeting some Georgia Hoyas, please let me know. I am the President of the Georgetown Club of Georgia and am traveling with my family down from Atlanta for the game. A few other Club members are coming from Atlanta and other places in Georgia and we may get together for brunch before the game.

I expect all starters and Hollis to be in double figures with the possibility of one more into double figures. I expect a closer game than last year. By that I mean we win by like 20-50 instead of 60+.

Savannah State was 15-14 last year, posting their first winning record in the Broadnax Era. Quite a climb from the 0-28 2004-2005 season!
Interesting tid-bit: Savannah State set the NCAA records for fewest points in a half (4 points) and the worst field goal percentage in a half (4.3 percent) in a 85-25 loss to Kansas State on January 7, 2008 (2008-01-07). The Tigers completed the second half 1-for-23, breaking the shot-clock era record. (per ESPN).
If the Hoyas play like they did on Tuesday, this could be one low-scoring game! However, I expect us to win by 20-50, like HSB.

as of right now, KenPom has them ranked about 30 places ahead of UCONN, so THIS is a HUGE game! (ignore the fact that uconn is ranked 287 and arkansas st is 4)

Look at how far we have come. A few years ago, we had a whole preseason of these kinds of teams. Right now, the Hoyas could stand to work on a few things, and it's good to reach out to an old Hoya - Horace Broadnax. It's back to the big boys soon enough. GO HOYAS!!!

great quote in the hoay from Broadnax about the game: "There’s the saying ‘bringing a knife to a gunfight,’ but I feel like we’re bringing a plastic knife to a gunfight"

great quote in the hoay from Broadnax about the game: "There’s the saying ‘bringing a knife to a gunfight,’ but I feel like we’re bringing a plastic knife to a gunfight" that's kinda harsh on his team/program dontcha think? i mean, everyone knows the differences between GU and SSU are monumental, but isn't the coach supposed to say something like "we're gonna give 'em all they can handle"? still pretty funny though.
