Marquette and DePaul ended up winning, but the Blue Demons needed to go to the wire against Columbia.
Could be another very long year in Lincoln Park

The Big East is still undefeated, I think.

The Memphis game raises the issue of how many years Henderson-Niles and Mack are allowed to play. It seems like Calipari inherited them after he left UMASS.

8 of the 10 starters in the Kansas-Memphis game played 40 minutes. No bench player on either side logged more than 1 minute. Wonder if that was by design or if they're just both really lacking depth. At least they both played their best when it counted, I guess.

Neither team's starters played more than the Hoya starters. sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/ncaa/men/viewcast/2009/11/17/56354_viewcast_boxscore.html

Not enough interesting/televised match ups to warrant a new thread tonight:
Butler takes on Northwestern in Evanston (might be on Big Ten Network if you have it)
Mount St. Mary's and American play each other in Tenleytown (neither team has a victory yet)
Next opponent Savannah State travels to North Florida
Toledo faces Cincinnati

This is supposed to be Northwestern's best team ever. Literally. Since they have never made the NCAA tournament and they basically returned everybody from a team that was close last season. Alas they have already lost two starters for the season due to injury. Poor Coach Carmody.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake.

PopeJohn should note that Biggie has not seen the floor tonight except during warmups. [ducks for cover]

PopeJohn should note that Biggie has not seen the floor tonight except during warmups. [ducks for cover] That's because Cincy clearly doesn't realize that Biggie would be an All-American if he played 30 minutes a game [runs away].

He didn't play in their first regular season game but saw 3 minutes in the 2nd exhibition and scored 2 points. Accordingly, he would score 26 points in a full game at Georgetown.

Props to Butler. Caught their game vs. Northwestern (a Princeton-style offense btw) in 10-15 minute stretches. Ball movement par excellence. I doubt you'd call them more athletic than us, but all five guys on the court can make it happen...and the best play I saw from them was an athletic steal and a siiiiiiiiiiiiick 20 foot bounce pass to a teammate running out for a dunk.
