FINALLY GOT CONFIRMATION from someone AT the game....... that coach did have jason bringing the ball up the court in the second half ...so one of coaches great moves.. jason had much better handle than last year .... like in the kenner.... and chris cooled down ...was calm... and played a great second half with steals and moves etc .... with the pressure off........ chris was much more a great point during kenner .....so i assume he do just that..... and WE WILL NEED THAT vs. temple ....... they have a very BIG TEAM........ and can rebound.. so ......... TWO HEADED MONSTER CENTER COME OUT TO PLAY AT VERIZON!!!!! go hoyas beat temple

I commented on this in the triumphant Talking Hoyas podcast--and while Clark did a good job bringing the ball up in the 2nd half, I think this could be an issue once we start playing teams with more aggressive backcourts. Handle certainly improved, but there is an ocean of space out there when he swings the ball out to his right side.
Casually.

lic,
jason didn't play point guard....chris is our point guard. period.
just because you help with the press doesn't mean you're the point guard

lic, jason didn't play point guard....chris is our point guard. period. just because you help with the press doesn't mean you're the point guard daytona you can call it anything you want, but it seemed that clark was the primary ballhandler in the second half...i think this is a conscious decision by Coach to allow Chris to be more of a receiver than the initiator of the offense...chris is a scorer, plain and simple...so i don't mind if clark becomes the guy to start up the offense and allow chris to just do his thing. kind of like when AI moved off the ball to focus on his scoring abilities.

Sounds like Sapp/Wallace all over again. How does one define "point guard" in our offense?

Agreed--what he's labeled as is not as important as the fact that III thinks he's capable of handling the ball. Not having seen the game, he may still need to improve, but the fact is we need a competent replacement for CW in case of fouls/injury/stupid play, so this can only be a positive.
Perhaps Tulane and Temple won't have BE-caliber guards, but better to get him that experience early and have him get comfortable bringing the ball up.
My guess is that it isn't that CW is being moved to a "receiver" position so much as Clark is getting experience as the primary ball handler. But who knows, you may be right.

JT3 has shown every season that he likes tinkering with things in the "preseason".
I would bet that he's just getting Clark used to bringing the ball up so he can do it (1) when Chris is on the bench or (2) if Chris gets hurt.

MY POINT IS I THINK THIS WAS ANOTHER GREAT ADJUSTMENT MADE BY COACH and yes the guy that brings the ball up and starts the plays in my book is the point guard .. i think he mainly did it cause chris was having trouble.. i do think then chris IN THIS GAME had pressure off and was freed up to do things. and jason was much better than last year at doing it.. i do believe chris will be the point for the year but this helped build his and jasons conficence and helped us win THIS game go hoyas beat temple

and jason started both halves just switched who did what.. also i still think in the long run would like to see hollis work his way into the starting lineup instead of jason so austin plays shooting guard vs. big east bigs adn THEN JASON WHO PLAYS LOTS AND LOTS comes off the bench for ball handling shoooting defense.. rebbies and all adn lots of energy to up things EVEN MORE but whata i know and i trust coach but think that wouldbe our way to the final four thingy yup just one mans opinion. go hoyas beat temple tommarrowwwwww
