The 11pm Sportscenter was supposed to have a segment on bubble teams and which conference was going to send the most teams to the dance. Because the KU-TT went long it got cut. Did anyone see the 2am Sportscenter? Did they have the segment? Recap would be appreciated.
Thanks.

We are being aren't being mentioned as we are considered a lock at this point. We would have to drop quite a few to fall into the bubble. I didn't see the 2am though.

wish they didnot think were a lock would rather be unknown and under the radar beat nd Nope. The more we are in discussion in terms of being considered a likley tourney team the more our chances are increased when the committee gets together to make the selections. We don't want to be seen as a Johnny Come Lately or a team that is on the bubble (or off the bubble) most of the season. We want to be viewed as a lock for as long as possible which would mean the team would be in a position in which it would have to collapse and perform awful to not get selected.

I saw the bubble breakdown during halftime of the Pitt SU game. Mike Jarvis and Digger consider Notre Dame and Villanova the bubble teams from the BE, andfelt that both would get into the NCAAs if the tourney were held today. There was no mention of GU at all, which means they consider the Hoyas a lock (for now).

that's good to hear . . . any speculation on how many bids the Big East or ACC would get?

The league is well stratified to get 7 right now.
There is a clear delineation between the Top 7 and the bottom 5, with really only Pitt's losses to WVU and SJU crossing the barrier. Otherwise, I do not think anyone for the Top 7 has lost to the Bottom 5 yet.
If this continues, I expect the Top 7 to go dancing, becuse Pitt has enough quality wins to offset their strange losses.
If this stratification continues in the future, I could well see the conference getting ten bids -- as long as the bubble teams can continue to beat all the lower level. The instant the lower level starts grabbing upsets is where the conference will start to lose bids. (An antidote to this is stronger OOC schedules, but lord knows Pitt and Cuse and maybe not GU won't comply).

We have won 12 out of 15 since losing to Oral Robers, including wins over probable tourney teams Pitt, and Nova, and possibly ND.
We are anything but a Johnny Come Lately, and anyone who does not think we want to be ranked should consider the added exposure it gives us because the scores and highlights from ranked team's games are included in sportscasts. Being ranked helps recruiting, and adds visibility to the alumni living all across the country, and abroad. I am not saying that the ranking are always fair, or a predictor of success, but if you ask me, I would rather be ranked than on the outside looking in.
