Whether you're a Democrat or Republican, this has to be by far the best result of the night. Well said, bando. Man, why didn't we go after Kris Jopseph harder??? ;D

We should probably also take this opportunity to once again remember the generosity of the McDevitt family, whose obvious hatred of S'cuse and/or appreciation for Jesuit education led them to donate over $125 Million between GU and Le Moyne last year. Hurrah!

In light of this result, as well as 'Cuse's defeat at the hands of Cleveland State last season, Jimmy B. will be making some slight adjustments to future schedules to help with his team's self-esteem. Expect next year's All-Empire State non-conference slate to include SUNY Maritime, the Fashion Institute of Technology, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Baruch College, and Regis High School. A home-and-home with the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry is pending. Webb Institute was a late scratch - turns out 90 naval architects scare the crap out of 14000 eskimos.

For those of us residing in upstate NY, this was a glorious outcome. Watxhed a chunk of the game on the local TimeWarner station, and SU was absolutely outplayed and outhustled. Hopefully a harbinger of many things to come this year. 'cuse in the house for the NIT?

watched the highlights online....after Le Moyne hit that 3 the time keeper even gave them a few extra seconds by not starting the clock w/ .8 seconds left on the clock....somehow they had enough time to dribble down the court and hoist a 3 that still missed....i laughed when i saw that

Somewhere my let's say less than chaste HS girlfriend is smiling as she attended LeMoyne. Normally that would not please me but now I think I need a Dolphins hat.

Remember that Robert L. McDevitt, the wonderful philanthropist who donated $75 million to Georgetown last year, also donated $50 million to Le Moyne College at the same time...

Because even when the clock starts, it's moving way too slowly to be counting tenths of a second.

I'd like to think of the loss as a sign Deshonte Riley has forever cursed the Orange ..

I was on a business trip to DC and was (obviously) in the Tombs when HoyaSinceBirth texted me this amazing news. At first I couldn't believe him but then a quick check on Syracuse.com confirmed this spectacular event. I could NOT stop laughing all night when I thought of it. Honestly, I bet most people in Syracuse didn't even know LeMoyne had a basketball team.
Being from Syracuse, I am largely connected to LeMoyne (took classes there during high school, family member on the Board of Regents) and this is such great news from them. It is a great JESUIT institution.

Also, its been a BAD week for Syracuse athletics. First, they barely get 30,000 fans to watch Cinci run all over them in football AND those fans boo'ed Greg Paulus every chance they could (classy). Then, their best football player quits the team. THEN it is revealed that this best football player was in a car accident with a few other [now-suspended] football players after they went to a Casino an hour away on Sat night. THEN their basketball team loses to LeMoyne. Oh, and their assistant coach is now a rapper: videos.syracuse.com/post-standard/2009/11/shut_it_down_by_syracuse_baske.htmlHe makes Ron Artest look like a rap superstar with that track.

I'd lay off Rony. Anyone who could get Elsa Benitez to marry him must be doing something right, even if it didn't last.

Cuse message boards are labeling worse 2 days in Syracuse Athletic History.
Agreed on laying off Seikaly. Good enought basketball player but definetely earned some stripes on his prowess off the court.

Wish I had realized this game was on last night......I would have LOVED watching it. Great news to get the season started the right way. Only thing better than an SU loss is a GU win!!!
SU fans have to be having a TOUGH time this week. I missed that Williams quit the FB team because of an accident on a casino trip. Must have been the Turning Stone Casino.....about 5 minutes from where I work.

Now, my friends, this one is delicious. Even from the left coast, nothing could be more satisfying than the 'Cuse dying on the LeMoyne battlefield. (Although, from an L.A perspective, UCLA having barely survived against something called "Concordia" last night is almost as good). I do want to echo Bando's response to RusskyHoyas' dis of the Merchant Marine Academy. My Dad. father to three Hoyas, grandfather to eight, was a "Kingspoint" -- as they called the USMMA in those days -- grad, who had ships sunk from underneath him in both the Atlantic and the Pacific. I've got to think those guys would be even tougher on the Syrathugs than was LeMoyne. Still and all, great news. Best to all. Beat Washington in Anaheim!

Technically, 'Cuse lost to the invading army on their own battlefield.
I only point this minor nitpick out because it makes the schadenfreude all the more savory and delicious.
;D
I know the game doesn't count, but I don't care. I feel like Cartman licking Scott Tenorman's tears.
