Our biggest deficiencies last year were defense and rebounding so I think the starting lineup includes Clark and Sims.

My take on the starting lineup is that we shouldn't care as much about what it is as who gets the bulk of the minutes. It is perfectly reasonable to me that you will give as many minutes as possible to Wright, Freeman, Clark, and Monroe given ability and things like that. From an experience/familiarity point of view, this is almost without question when considered with the issue of ability.
The role of Hollis, Julian, Henry, et al. is to earn their way into minutes by play on the floor. Ideally, what we would get out of each of them is an ability to create matchup problems in our favor. Maybe Henry can stretch a defense with his face-up game and draw a post defender out. Maybe Hollis can dominate a smaller SF, etc.

Clark will be one guy who does not come out when JTIII is subbing offense/defense late in a close game. I expect that the team will be better on both ends when he is in the game.

good point not who starts but who finishes agree with mci would LOVE to see jason play lots of minutes but off the bench to bring in d offensive spark shoots out and drives to the hoop passes MUCH LOWER BETTER HANDLE THAN LAST YEAR AND would bring that patrick ewing energy stuff you know that got us to the promised land.. also agree with dense what i saw of hollis was great shot great passing going for rebbies with vigor... and very very quick on d and on gettting the rebbies and or fter the shot getting the ball quickly and getting the ball down the court quicker than any big man ive seen at gu for a long long time.. would love to see us press and have hollis up front like in the olden days hed be great front man on the press if jt3 so choses so aint about strengthbut other stuff hell bring young.. but remember smart adn quick and athletic and has practiced withthese guys ALOT over the year around since last jan.. go hoyas go hollis.. ps i think he was not so good in kenner as he played with the maryland guys who took his passes which were great but gave him nothing nadda thats othing.. go hoyas and remember the key is henry and julian playing that two headed monster center yup thats it so greg can be teh passing shooting driving etc POWER FORWARD hes meant to be go hoyas only like ten or eleven days left wowowowowowowo eat the bannananannn yes yes ye swoowowowoowwowo

I have to agree that the starting lineup won't matter as much as the situational lineups. I think we'll see all of the following throughout the early part of the season, with the upper three becoming the bulk of what we see later on (plus a little Nikita and Vee sprinkled in), unless Julian really HAS made the strides Barker's artcile suggests he has: Wright Clark Freeman Sims Monroe Wright Clark Thompson Sims Monroe Wright Freeman Thompson Sims Monroe Wright Freeman Thompson Vaughn Monroe Wright Clark Freeman Vaughn Monroe Edited. Thanks Dan. Sorry Hollis. I'm just a dumb Hoya fan and if I haven't seen it on a jersey, it's not ingrained in my noggin.Just keep repeating to yourself, "no relation" over and over again...

I'm not sure why everybody thinks that Clark will be out of the starting lineup at some point this year. Clark is on the rise, and I expect way more out of him this year than Hollis.
I would bet that this is the starting lineup all year long - with the possible exception of Vaughn taking Sims' spot if Sims has a bad year. Just my guess.

I think we can all agree that we don't care what the line up is as long as we win. I don't care if we trot out Dougherty, stepka, Nikita, and two managers if we're winning.

Seth Davis picks Chris wright as a sleeper on twitter. John Goodman agrees and adds in Jason Clark as another sleeper.

Based on what I saw in the short Kenner season, I absolutely believe we are going to see an upgraded Julian this year.

i dont know why people for the last 2 years have been saying julian will start along side monroe. julian will sub for monroe and will get some additional minutes this year along side him in the middle of games. theres no way they will both be out of the game at the same time or we will be punked on the inside.
the only stables in the lineup are monroe and wright. sims and clark definitely need to play up to their potential to warrant their spots as well as freeman to a lesser extent.
