The Friars picked up their first Big East victory today with an 81-64 home win over Rutgers.

Good. That gets rid of the possiblity of them throwing together a ridiculous game against us in an attempt not to go winless in conference.

It isn't as bad as it normally is. Although, it probably should be bad considering this loss.

It isn't as bad as it normally is. Although, it probably should be bad considering this loss. They are probably so dead inside they can't summon up the strength to cry and moan. Couldn't happen to a better bunch of fans...well, other than those third rate rioters in College Park.

Good for them, they really are a better team than 0-9. This takes alot of pressure of us come march 5.

I am glad PC won too. I did not want them to be 0-15 coming to GU.
I'll take them being 4-11 so our guys can take them seriously and play hard to win.

This takes alot of pressure of us come march 5. Not really...they're 11-13 right now, and have six games left (including UConn and @syracuse). If they manage to beat UConn this week, they have a real shot at making .500. So if they win a couple more games between now and then, they could be playing for their lives in three weeks.

Totally agree with lic. Providence has an RPI of 101, and is a very dangerous team.

Totally agree with lic. Providence has an RPI of 101, and is a very dangerous team. I agree completely. That's why I'm glad they won and why I want them now to have every reason to have quit on the season by the time we play them. I'd rather play a PC team that's quit on the season then one that's really motivated (to get their 1st BE win, get into the NIT, etc).

with all the talk about tournament play a loss to the FRIARS would not be good. I beleive in our squad though, have not had any real dissapointments yet
