at campaigning and whipping up the base as he did today at the AFL-CIO appearance. Unfortunately, no one has told him it is now his job to govern and formulate workable policies.
It is downright unseemly to hear him spouting out pro-union pabulum at a time when he needs to govern. Has it ever occurred to him that a small bit of the current economic mess might be attributable to the intransigence of orrganized labor?

Has it ever occurred to him that a small bit of the current economic mess might be attributable to the intransigence of orrganized labor? As much as I'm skeptical of organized labor, I find their role in the current economic crisis to be de minimis. If we had let the auto and airline industries fail in the US, rather than prop them up repeatedly over the course of the last few decades, the unions would represent even less than the measly 12% or so of the population they cling to. If we want to blame the unions, we have to blame ourselves for protecting our workers/companies/industries from the harsh reality of capitalism.
