ABC has plans for a new show based on St. Elmo's Fire. It will feature characters who are recent Georgetown grads. tinyurl.com/lx9xys

Someone should just go ahead and figure out how to open a St. Elmo's restaurant somewhere in Georgetown. It'd be a license to print money.

The real question is if the producers will again try to pass off UMD as georgetown.

And I know that gtown will never agree to let ABC use images of gtown in the show so there is really no point of having it "set" at gtown (even though i know most of the action will take place off campus)

Wife and I watched this the other night again. Anyone else think, other than the GU connection, this was kind of a crappy movie?

The new series is brought to us c/o the folks who created That 70s Show, which could be a good thing, because it's not from the folks who were liable for That 80s Show. Oh wait, it's supposed to be a dramedy? This is certain to be awful.
Much like the movie itself. It's (nearly?) impossible to feel any sympathy for any of the characters. Easily the worst Brat Pack film, no competition.

That movie was horrible.
There are small elements in all of them that we can recognize, in ourselves or our friends, but honestly, how over the top can you get??? Even the mousy one is a ridiculous parody of mousiness.
Emilio Estevez is the only one approaching likable, and he's a freakin' stalker for crying out loud.
And why did it suck, I ask you?
Because John Hughes did not write or direct it, of course. You go to hell, Joel Schumacher. You go to hell and you die.

It was a crappy movie, and ABC will make it a crappier TV show.
Hard to believe it was popular. I remember the summer it premiered being asked several times by random 18 year olds if I knew where St. Elmos bar was. I think I gave directions to 3rd edition.

When I read "pair of wheels," I thought of this new and extremely confusing viral video:
NSFW? I guess? Who the hell knows.
Regardless of how much you do or do not like St. Elmo's, it at least makes some sense. I actually kind of liked it, but I only saw it once a few years ago.

The fact that a college bar reserves a table for people that no longer go to the school? That those same recent grads can, apparently, go out drinking all night long every night? That Demi Moore can get 2 months of paycheck advances at her job at a bank? That Demi Moore works at a bank? That Rob Moore carries a saxaphone everywhere and no one thinks it's out of the ordinary. That some asian diplomat would turn over all of his affairs to Emilio Estevez? For $500 a week?

These are all things that i am currently doing or will be doing in the future, so yes it ALL makes sense. ;D Now excuse me while I ride my segway into the sunset.
