At the Half:
Syracuse 43 Villanova 29
Notre Dame 30 Pittsburgh 35
I'm not really sure who we want to win what games, but I guess we can't control that anyways, so let's just take care of business against WVU.
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! WIPE OUT WEST VIRGINIA!

I think our picks have to be SU and Pitt. We are competing with Nova and ND on the lower tier of the BE schools that are looking for a bid. So, we want the teams that are closer to locks at this point to win over these bubble teams or teams that are closer to the bubble.
I know the RPI gurus will bash me on this because 'Nova seems like more of a lock in terms of RPI, but a loss here would push them to .500 in conference. If we finish up at 10-6 and they are only a game or two over, then our case is made.
My $.02.

It would appear that Cuse didn't take kindly to being a 5 point dog at Nova today. Yikes. Despite the surprises around the league, I think, when all is said and done, UConn and Cuse will, once again, be the class of the BE.

I would like to point out that we are not in the "lower tier of BE teams" trying to get a bid as it stands right now. Even if you are talking about just the 7 NCAA hopefuls.

I would like to add to that by stating that perhaps we should not have been rooting for Syracuse to win today. After all, had they lost, we would have only been a game behind them in the Conference standings, so maybe you're all selling this Hoya team short. We still have an outside shot at finishing first in the BE, baby! Why settle for anything less?
Seriously, let's not worry about all the other games, but rather focus on a strong performance today against West Virginia.

It's outside the Big East, but one of the best calls Georgetown ever made this season was calling Bruce Weber for that home and home series with the Illini.
Wisconsin got to within five on Illinois today, but you knew it wasn't going to be enough. Illinois is just too good, and that Georgetown loss to Illinois in December is about ten times more valuable right now than a 40 point win over Grambling or Marymount.

Like Bill Belichick and the Patriots, let's just focus on one game at a time. GO HOYAS! BEAT THE MOUNTAINEERS!

SU, BC, and UCONN are the only locks, and the remaining four can play there way out of the Dance if they are not careful. Obviously, not all 4 will, but each has the opportunity to do so. That's how I distinguish it. Our win today might change that.

I won't call Connecticut a lock. They're looking good, sure. But if they lose to UNC tomorrow, then what is the difference between them and us?
Both 15-6 overall, 7-3 Big East. Take a look at their non-conference schedule and tell me it's that much better than ours (I'll give them an edge, I'm just saying it's not a ton better). No more significant wins than us.
I'm not saying they won't make the tourney, I think they probably will. But just like us they're going to have to win some more games down the stretch. And their schedule down the stretch is tougher than ours.

Playing Illinois was great for RPI, but MOST IMPORTANT, it showed the team (1) what it takes to beat the best team in the country, and (2) that they can play with almost anybody, if they execute.
I think they were both humbled and emboldened by that game, and it's payed off richly during the nip and tuck Big East season so far. Onions!

as for todays games i clearly wanted the cuse we need to keep nova down for the top five thing at the tourney and now they are five and five.. as for nd i even tho that helps us with them and the top five if pitt had lost theyd be down more and help the top five .. key need to keep winning but the others got sometough games coming up like nd vs gu go hoyas a win out there would be HUGH very nice and good but will be very tough i think they are still a little ticked at our hibbs man and his shot ps hibbs looked ok out there today some blocks some shots ... cant wait till the BOY who is not so strong becomes a man this summer with the weights and zo and motombo etc etc good hands but had the ball stripped a few times i think from stenght primarily 20 pound of muscle and watch out go hoyas beat the dames.
