I know we have been on Quinn Cook for sometime as well. Would Johnson be at the top of the list or is Gtown going to go after both and be happy if either of the 2 commits? Are these the top 2 targets for PG in 11?

When an '11 PG comes in, Chris will be graduated (barring some kind of medical redshirt).
Clark will be in his senior season and possibly not a PG.
We'll have a sophomore Starks and a junior Sanford, most likely. It may not be a huge '11 need, but it's good planning for '12.

Any long-term planning at PG would have to include Kyle Anderson '12.

Yeah, but who knows...... Kyle has a good pace to his game even though he isnt overly quick reminds me of how Magic wasnt the quickest guy but there but guarded guys smaller than him. Kyle in terms of Game IQ and ability is a PG dont let the reports fool you. He has a PG game, he just isnt a AAU wow wonder in terms of athletic ability or fancy quick crosses that get by guys. He is solid and can find the open man.

It's also nice to know that he probably won't be Kentucky's 33rd scholarship player.

from zagsblog: "The list for Plainfield guard Tyrone Johnson looks like this according to Derrick Bobbitt, his AAU coach: Georgetown, Villanova, Rutgers, St. John’s, Virginia Tech, UCLA, Kentucky and Seton Hall. Georgetown appears to be the favorite."

from scout/telep:
The Jersey guard has much of the Big East looking. He’s well built, accepts contact and could be a true combo guard.

Tyrone's team (Jersey Elite) game in 3rd place in the Summer Hoops classic. He was unstoppable getting to the cup, as usual. He is probably not 100% back from his knee injury, but he is just a special player and has the toughness to play through things.

Tyrone has been playing great in West Virginia, nobody can stay in front of him as his team has been advancing.

Tyrone is really leading his team, as NJ Elite has advanced to Thursday's semi finals. They beat Cecil Cirk in over time 72-70.

Telep had this to say about Johnson today:
"Tyrone Johnson, PG, NJ Elite: The carryover from Reebok Camp has happened. He walloped Jonny Flynn’s team for 25 points and they couldn’t guard him. Attacks to the rim went unchecked. He’s developing into a high-major guard. If he can shoot it consistently the pieces would be in place. Right now he’s getting to the rim effortlessly and using a strong body to finish people off. The big question remains. Will he give up football for hoops?"
Later in the article, it said Rutgers, Indiana and Villanova were watching him yesterday.

Ty's team lost 60-56 in the semi finals this morning. Ty played great all tourny. Nobody can stay in front of AI 2.0.

Per nbe: This morning, God’s Glory, led by Donte Thomas of Ballou (DC) High School, took down Team Jersey Elite in one semifinal. Team Jersey Elite was led by Plainfield (NJ) guard Tyrone Johnson. Also a star on the football field, Johnson has indicated in the past to NBE that basketball is his first love and the 2011 prospect is among the ‘first loved’ by many programs looking for a lead guard in his class.
