Is this the year when the Hoyas begin a streatch of consecutive NCAA appearences including an occasional final 4? If North Carolina can do it, we should. We should do it without relying on one-done kids who really should be allowed to go directly to the NBA if they choose. There are enough quality recruits to make this happen. We just need to get them and keep them. Is this the year? Go Hoyas.

It won't happen with our facilities.

If North Carolina can do it, we should. This, or "Hello, my name is hifigator." I can't decide.

It won't happen with our facilities. Oh please facilities are the least of our problems as long as we run that dreadful offense. Its holding our players back. Just give them the ball and let them run with it. Jeeze, how can anyone think we will ever make it to a final four or have consecutive NCAA appearances running this offense.

Insightful point there, sleepy. I wonder what would happen if we recruited players like they can get in the ACC.

Maybe if Austin loses weight. But if he doesn't, the program is probably doomed.

Yeah - we'll never get to the final 4 with that system --- oh, never mind --- we already did. My bad.

I really wish you people would stop setting unrealistic expectations for this program.

do not get mad at me here, but i am not sure this year we even make the ncaas?before you start bashing me ,lets look at it.we will need sims to get at least 7pts and 6-7 boards a game?hollis needs at least 10pts a game?vaughn needs at least 4pts 4 rebounds off bench? we need wright to get around 14pts a game, freeman 13 or 14.monroe around 18 to 20.and 8-9 boards?and you will need clark to come in score about 5-6pts,and jerell,to get 4pts and 3-4 rebounds?and sanford to play well?
that is a lot of ?? go hoyas i hope we will squeak in this year?

We can't compete in basketball without a major D1 football program.

JC, if this team scores "at least" 76 ppg and gets 23 rpg out of its PF and Cs only, we're a National Championship contender, unless our defense is atrocious.
That said, I think you can make an argument that the team won't make the NCAAs. It'll be pessimistic, but you can make an argument.

Offense is the second requirement, defense is the first, you can't outscore your opponents without stopping them on defense consistently.

If everyone concedes that we underachieved or didn't play up to our talent last year (and I'm pretty sure that's the prevailing wisdom), why does our talent need to be any better this year? Even if we are just as talented, or even slightly less talented, than last year, if we play up to that standard, then we will be a tournament team or better. That seems to depend on a lot of intangibles, but that's what we need out of this team, not an influx of new talent.
That being said, I fully expect the majority of our young players to develop next year.

This program will never get any better until JT3 learns how to recruit from Jim Calhoun and John Calipari.

How was the OOC schedule the problem last year. We went 9-2 in OOC this year. I just don't see the correlation between beatdowns in conference games afer doing well in a tough OOC. Now I could see if you said hopefully our first 6 games of the conference schedule won't be so tough, but I don't know how much control we really have over that.

I heard that Austin Freeman, Greg Monroe, and Henry Sims are building a new facility by themselves over the summer in a move that will resolve weight, strength, chemistry, and facility issues. Hollis Thompson's cousin also told me that he has pledged to smile "at least twice as often as DaJuan ever did."
