Hoyas froncourt sends back 8 shots. Hibbert and Green reminiscent of old Hoyas' rejection row. There may no longer be a Mt. Mutombo to climb on the Hilltop, but these young guys show WVU that when coming into Georgetown's backyard, you better be prepared for a nasty combination of inside size and superior perimeter defense. Georgetown holds WVU to under 25% shooting from the outside. Green leads all scorers, followed by Bowman and Cook in double digits. Hoyas outrebound and outshoot Mountaineers, and end up with a solid victory, never really being challenged in the second half.
West Virginia 52 Georgetown 61
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! WIPE OUT WEST VIRGINIA!

We hold them under 60, we win, just as we have all season.
My prediction: PAIN.

67-59 Hoyas - We pull away late - but be careful - we have to come to play or we could get surprised - get to the game if you can - we need every win & every fan.

GU - 60, WVU - 48
This nice long break gives the boys all the rest they need to go into defensive lock-down.
I've been having Brooks Berry nightmares for a little over 6 years now... we gotta win this one to start the "bid-lockup" process. A loss would be devastating considering our remaining schedule (although UConn looks a BIT easier without Anderson, but I wish him well and a speedy recovery... just not speedy enough to play GU).
GO HOYAS!!!

I think this game will be similar to the St. John's and Seton Hall games at MCI...game never really in doubt, Hoyas win by around ten points.
Hoyas 68 Eers 57
Bowman goes for 30.

Much like Rutgers last week, we lead most of the way, they make a run, we hold them off with free throws at the end:

Tight game througout as WVU plays zone the whole way. Game played in the 50's. Once again comes down to us hitting a good percentage from 3...

Is this the "OFFICIAL" prediction thread?
I only respond to the "OFFICIAL" prediction thread...
you just can't hap-hazardly start prediction threads without placing official in the prediction thread subject line...
What are you, some kind of communist?
Admin...please make this "OFFICIAL"...

Hoyas shoot 11-17 from three, opening up big opportunities for cuts and for Mean Jeff Green in the lane. Hoyas disrupt the passing lanes on d, and win by a 74-61 margin.

I think we need to contain Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. It's so much fun to say. Pittsnogle. But I think our defense will be solid, some cold shooting to start, but then some Jeff Green buckets in the lane open up 3s for Cook and Wallace (he seems to hit when he's open, not when he's not). Down in the first half but rally to lead 27-24 at the half. Break out opening to 2nd half and hold on for a semi-comfortable
57-51

Maybe GU can rattle WVU with consistent defensive pressure the way VU did back in Jan. (84-46!)

What did Pitt do wrong against WVU?
Whatever THAT is, we should look to correct...
No predictions here!

I think we need to contain Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. Pittsnogle. It's so much fun to say. Pittsnogle. 57-51 It's more fun to say Pitsnooooooogle. Here's hoping Pitsy plays with oven mitts on like he did against BC as opposed to his play against PC. Guarding the perimeter while keeping pNoogler and company off the offensive boards will be the keys. Fischer looked good in limited (because of fouls) time against BC so watch out for him in the paint.

What did Pitt do wrong against WVU? Whatever THAT is, we should look to correct... No predictions here! I have a few suggestions as to how we can do better than Pitt did against WVU: 1. We should play the game at home instead of at West Virginia. 2. Guard against the three. WVU's overall three point percentage for the game looks terrible, but their 3's were integral in them coming back in the second half and winning the game in OT. 3. Don't foul so much. Pitt committed 23 fouls and WVU went 90% (18 out of 20) from the line.
