are we the odd team out at the moment? I know our conference record is solid and that we've beaten some of the teams that would get in ahead of us, but still... I'm nervous.
Seven is the most teams from one conference that have ever been invited, so it's an extraordinary circumstance. Something tells me the committee will be looking for reasons NOT to take that seventh team. Right now we don't really have a signature win (like Nova over Kansas or ND over BC) and for some reason Pitt is still considered a lock.
We can take care of this with an impressive run down the stretch, and obviously the Nova and ND games are hugely important. But if we only split our last six games, I think we need a win in the Big East Tourney to sew up a bid.
But it is pretty great to be talking about this stuff again, isn't it? Honestly, considering the expectations I had at the beginning of the season and as recently as the loss to Oral Roberts, everything from here on out is gravy...

Consensus is Notre Dame is the most "bubbly" right now despite the BC win.

We just need to keep winning.
It's an old cliche, we all know, but it is true. One game at a time.
our job is to keep supporting this team.
If Roy has a bad game, If Ray misses some free throws If Bad Brandon shows up for half If Ashanti has a recurrence of absent minded turnovers If Wallace disappears again Ditto DJ If Tyler gets another DNP If Green appears to be human
JUST KEEP CHEERING FOR THEM ANYWAY!
GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely! I've never been able to articulate that, but that's exactly how I feel.
We may get behind, bad fouls may be called, 2 digit leads may erode, but we just need to keep cheering baby!

I think the Big East has a lot of room to get 7 because the SEC and Big XII are extremely weak, the Big Ten maxes out at 4 teams, C-USA is terrible, and the A-10 is "I can't believe it's not MEAC" bad.
I don't think we have to worry about "if the Big East doesn't get 7" because there needs to be teams to replace any team that falls out. Right now we're #22 out of at-large teams just by RPI alone. That's right in the middle of the pack and with road wins versus two at-large teams, a home win against another, and a win on the road versus a mid-major that has now won twelve straight, our resume is very solid compared to the competition.
The Hoyas just have to close it out. There's no need to worry. I also think we're better than Notre Dame--not playing better or working harder--just straight-up meet-us-on-the-playground better. The Hoyas trailed for exactly 4.9 seconds in the second half of the MCI game. They can get a win at JCC. If we win Saturday, the guys go into that one knowing it would seal the deal.

While all of this is exciting, the key for our guys is not to go into a game thinking that they get a bid if they win IMO. The key is to take every game as it comes and focus on the task at hand.
