I agree with you about chants like the ones you've mentioned above. They are directly related to rooting on your team and to me are a basic need to have any type of home court advantage. But pre-game rehearsed chants that change on a game-by-game or week-by-week basis is not a sign of being a great fan. It is however, a sign of being a loser with too much time on your hands. What do you propose I do with all the time I have on my hands? I already spend too much time on the boards. I already party a lot. I have a bunch of friends. Yet I still have free time. There's a void in my life and I think the only way to fill it is with PRE-GAME REHEARSED CHANTS!!!!!If it makes the Hoya BBall experience better, I can make time for it. I'm a college student. I have time. I think having a cheer or two for a specific opponent could make us have a better home court advantage if the entire student section can get behind it. I haven't figured out that part yet, but I'm still working on it. If that makes me a loser in your eyes, well, I don't really care.

It is however, a sign of being a loser with too much time on your hands. About the same as having a post count over 1000, right? sigh.

Bilas just praised this on ESPN saying it was a great tribute to the rivalry...

I think something we're all missing is that we're talking about GEORGETOWN STUDENTS. We could be 100-0 and we'd still have people on the phones. Most schools would. You're not going to change that. I'd rather have them there on the phone then elsewhere doing nothing. "Horrible" or not, if they buy the ticket they can do whatever they damn well please. I've always thought that student seasons tix should be assigned seats... that way you get the real motivated, intense fans in line earlier when they go on sale and thus in the front of the student section all year long. Let the "phonies" (sorry... couldn't resist) sit at the back.
GO HOYAS!!!
