at 10pm on ESPN classic the finals of the 1995 preseason NIT between gtown and zona will be on ESPN classic.
Of course Classic is showing another Hoya loss, but should still be a good game this is the 95-96 season so Othella, jerome, iverson and all them. I loved that team.

The reverse under-the-basket dunk Iverson made was ridiculous.
Other thing that struck me - Toumou makes a three point jumper and it looked pretty - there must have been a huge difference between his knees between his freshman and senior seasons.

This is my favorite Gtown game that we lost. I still watch this game on vhs. We should have one. Our team was loaded.

Man, I forgot all about Jerry. He finished up @ MS Valley St, right? I think we had 5 natl top 100 recruits on that squad. Bubba(he would have been), O, Jerry, J. White & Vic..

Anyone else remember the video at the April '95 banquet where they showed the videos of Joe and Godwin and others. I think Joe hit about 15 threes in a row. That was also the banquet where JT2 spoke of Page coming without mentioning him by name.

That was also the banquet where JT2 spoke of Page coming without mentioning him by name. I remember the Toumou video. That video was a huge deal because I don't remember them doing it before and because this was a pre-YouTube world and no one had ever heard of DayJack/Godwin/Toumou much less had a prayer of ever seeing footage of them on George Michael's Sports Machine. The best part about that speech was Thompson talking about how he got Mary Fenlon drunk on the plane and her asking "what dummy are you sticking me with" on her third martini when she got suspicious that he was about to tell her about a new recruit (Victor Page).

Had blown out Ga Tech before then at the Cap. what i remember from the gt game was iverson blocking a jump shot from marbury and with his hand on top of the ball, pushing marbury down to the floor. great display of athleticism. agree on the no offensive schemes for this squad. it was iverson's team and my hoya board screen name lost all confidence unfortunately.

This game reminds me of AI's career. He looked great, played great but his team didn't win. Too many times it was about AI and not the team. He had a great team around him. They should have done more.

How does a team that goes undefeated at home, make it to the big east finals and the elite 8 run no offense? You may not have liked the O they ran, but to suggest they ran no O is a bit silly!

yea that team was stacked! geez i finally got a chance to watch the game tonight....brought back some memories! while our family had always followed the hoyas, that's the team i was old enough to first remember and start to really get into when i was a little kid...i went to the banquet that year with my dad and got the whole team to sign my georgetown basketball camp t-shirt haha....I still have the framed hanging in my room

That team was stacked. They had Iverson, Williams, Harrington and White that played in the NBA plus Page who should have been have in the NBA. Others like Aw and Toumou. That is the most talent of any Georgetown team since the national title team run.
