The second and third legs were very good for gtwn-first and anchor legs struggled a bit--I guess it gave both bodruin + christine whalen some big time relay experience. Very good time by Ogrodnick--Even if all the women pr'd + running the infelds, they still would have lost to Tennessee who set a world record.

Interesting that the men did not contest the 4 X Mile, where they shld have been one of the favorites. I guess they were trying to preserve boylan-pett for the 4 X 8. Hopefully they can pull off a good 4 X 8. Congrats to Boylan-Pett (and the 4 X 800 team) with the 1:46.0 800 anchor split--undoubtedly the best leg of the meet. the men finished a close second to texas in the 4 X 800--excellent leg by maloy and good leg by o"connor. Pett nearly ran down the reigning NCAA champ Jacob Hernandez of texas. On a side note a pretty silly headline on GUhoyas re: the womens 4 X 200 relay(not a major event at Penn) considering Boylan -Pett ran the fastest relay split of the meet. I would think that Boylan-Pett would have a legit shot at a top 3 finish in either the 800 or 1500 at the NCAA meet.

The men did very well in the 4x800! They just lost out to Texas: 7:16.88 to 7:16.33.
The composition and times:
1. Toby Ulm 1:52.37 (decent time for the 400m hurdler, but he let the top teams get too far a lead). 2. John Maloy 1:48.74 (John continues his good running, getting the Hoyas back in contention). 3. Theon O'Connor 1:49.77 (responding to the cheers of the Jamaicans in the crowd) 4. Liam Boylan-Pett 1:46.00 (relay split of the games; got the Hoyas from 4th to 2nd and challenged the NCAA 800m champ from Texas, Hernandez, and he ran 0.21 s faster than him.)
