Now this is some solid comedy. Nice work here.
I liked the one about Boozer and Snyder coming back to teach his ethics class...he he he.

the_way, please change your handle to the_ hemroid. All you do is criticize and it's very irritating.

But how does it compare to the all time champ? The classic of internet Hoops commentary? The series that revealed all when it come to Duke Hoops? -- and in retrospect -- gave a pretty interesting take on the former KU coach who is now at UNC If you never read it before, check out: Kiki of K-ville! kiki1-5.blogspot.com/

...also notice the message board commentary below. "Nice character assassination and denigration of players and coaches that have given their heart and soul to Duke. You are a detestable little twerp. Richard Hadlow '74 richard.hadlow@hklaw.com attorney Tampa, FL." Yow. Now I'd like to think your average 50-something Hoya grad/lawyer would have a better sense of humor than this joyless Dookie---but that's wishful thinking.

Personally....I couldn't think of a single person on this board who would react that way.

;D ;D ;D HoyaLawya's are noted for good humor and appreciation of the occasional poke at irony. Mr. Hadlow probably also finds Jonathan Swift to be "detestable" ... Tampa must be hot and muggy today.

After reading through that message board, all I have to say is WOW. I mean, the amount of threats that were lobbied at the columnist are ridiculous (and mostly from undergrads at Duke). Hopefully, after JT3 makes everyone forget about Coach K, Gtown fans don't end up like that. I doubt they would (it says something about you if you choose Gtown over Duke), but you never know.

I don't know if anyone is quite as cynical as me, but the first thing I thought when I heard that Coach K fell down on Saturday was :
a) Were they losing at the time? b) Was it another attempt to peg losses on Pete Gaudet?

"Carlos Boozer tricking a blind man for a $68 million contract."
As an average 45-something Hoya grad/lawyer, I think that's a great line.

I love it. I had to live in Durham when Duke started to make a name for itself choking in Final 4's (Hello, Andrew Gaze!). The free pass that K gets in the media is amazing. When I was in Durham, the Chronicle ran an article moderately critical of a couple of players. K invited the Chronicle sports staff to stop by for a chance to "Meet the Team." With the team standing behind him, he then went into a long tirade against the students (liberally laced with profanity) saying that they didn't support him. One of the student reporters, of course, had a tape recorder running in his bag and got the whole thing. Tiny blow up, but then all forgotten.
I cannot imagine Thompson (II or III) being thin-skinned enough to lure the student newspaper into a meeting under false pretenses in order to scream at them. But that episode is emblematic of Duke basketball. Smug and insecure, all at the same time.

Of course I also, chose GU over Chicago...a choice I am thankful for (as Chicago is where fun goes to die).
Let's just say social life and sports played a BIG part in the decision and I don't regret it at all.
