What exactly is the difference between Summers and Donte Green from Cuse (other than our hatred for Cuse)? Same jump shooting forward who isn't that great of a shooter and a game that doesn't translate that well. What does Summers do that is unique in the NBA? He doesn't play D, he is an okay shooter, he rebounds poorly for a guy his size, his turnover rate is high...other than being a good athlete (which everyone is in teh NBA) what is unique about him?
Summers is another guy who listened to the wrong people tell him how he wasn't being showcased etc. Sad day.

Hmmm, let's see ... a 6'8" player with the body of a 4 man but who likes to drift on the outside, fire up threes (with decent success), doesn't like to rebound or play much defense?
Sounds like a solid 10-12 year Euroleague career in the making.

Maybe he drifted to the outside too often because that was the only place someone would pass him the ball. There were several games when Dajuan looked to score inside when he had a mismatch. At Marquette for example. His 7-point run in the paint put the team in position to win at Baylor. Then in the last five minutes he got position at the elbow and on the baseline but the passes never came. He finally had to go outside to get the ball and made a three with 10 seconds left. The team's meltdown at the end of so many games should not be blamed on Summers. This was Chris Wright's team by that point. He controlled who got the ball and where they got it. In a few games, he made good decisions and clutch plays. In others, he did not.

Greene also left after only one year so his pick was based moreso on potential.

On the contrary, I just meant that the basketball landscape's expanded so much that there are obviously lots of opportunities for players with specific skills to have long careers and make decent $$$ somewhere in the world. Of course, everyone's desire is to make the "League"/"Association"/"David Stern's Traveling Commercial Circus", but here's hoping that if Dajuan's motivation is to get employment playing basketball, his eyes are open to other opportunities (no reason to think they wouldn't be) if the NBA doesn't pan out. I would kill for getting paid $$$ to ball in lands foreign, despite it probably being nowhere near as glamorous as I'd like to think ("This is Sophia. She has seen you play the basketball many times. She very much like you. You come with us to club, no?")

thebiglead.com mocks up the first 14 picks of the NBA Draft. Summers nowhere to be found, but another familiar face is... thebiglead.com/?p=12811Honestly, if Monroe is confident that he would be a top three pick (or even top five) I certainly couldn't blame the kid for leaving. Hope we get another year to watch him as a Hoya, but hard to argue that he *should* stay.

Dajuan is grossly overestimating his abilities. Him vs Lebron next year? Ha! A joke.
I hope he likes cities like Bakersfield, Grand Rapids and others in the NBDL. Since he's apparently not on campus anymore, I guess he isn't taking Greek or Italian this semester. Maybe he got himself a Rosetta Stone.

Dajuan Summers = Josh Howard. HA!, I think DaJuan might play in the NBA next year but he isnt on Josh Howard's level. Howard can drive and handle the ball really well, and finishes well inside regardless of his skinny frame. This comparassion is laughable..sorry no disrespect. If i was picking someone who Summers will be like Id pick Tim Thomas over Josh Howard.....Howard way above Summers talent wise.

My god people. The bitterness of some of these posts is off the charts. Wish him the best, don't spew so much hatred b/c he won't be suting up for the Hoyas next year. Dajuan played for Gtown for three years and now we turn on him because he's going to pursue it professionally without your approval? Dajuan is grossly overestimating his abilities. I think DaJuan will get picked....and may end up on a NBA roster next year. I think alot of people are just upset because he won't be here next year. He though has the talent to play in the NBA. He just obviously though has some glaring holes in his game.

thoughout the season Summers was being listed as a top 20 pick. A bad month, where team chemistry and lack of cohesiveness led to losses and underachieveing should not erase the play which had him ranked highly throughout the year. A couple of good draft workouts and I can envision him regaining his stature.

I havent read which agent Dajuan has signed with, did i miss that? Is there a reason that he wouldnt sing with Falk? According to Jeff Goodman at Foxsports.com, Summers signed with Andre Buck. Any idea who the guy is?

Any idea who the guy is? Further evidence that the advice he's receiving isn't coming from JTIII and company. And the fact that it's coming from elsewhere for a guy who was a junior captain this season is troubling. Just how bad might things be in that locker room?
