wow. I've saved this column for all my ACC friends/apologists. I love how he ties the shifting prominence to the ACC raid on the Big East.

Amazing how brainwashed some people are. How many years did it take him to figure out that Duke sucks?

Everybody get ready. That article will undoubtedly lead to a later, unreasoned but vitriolic attack on the Hoyas somewhere in some venue, singling them out for not being a part of BE dominance. Guaranteed. Watch out, it's coming.

Guaranteed. Watch out, it's coming. Well, obviously. Last year, when Georgetown was good and the league was down - now that the league is down, the Hoyas are exposed as the paper tiger that they are. Oh, and despite the fact that they're in the toughest league in the country, they still refuse to play and help starving children who don't have shoes because they're scared.

Dan, I'm surprised at you. That isn't exactly the politically correct way of saying that. What about all the short people? Funny though.

I find it noteworthy that both Coach K and Jay Wright mentioned the importance of experience to teams’ success. Several posters in various threads have been dismissive of the idea that our relative youth and inexperience was much of a real factor in explaining our inconsistencies this season. A couple even labeled it an excuse or copout.
Here’s hoping we have the benefit of all our key current players in the next couple of years. While I acknowledge that we have several aspects of our game to work on/develop, I'd like to think that a year or two playing together will go a long way towards these Hoyas realizing their full potential. They’ll have the opportunity to demonstrate what many keen observers of the game have long maintained.

I was waiting for someone to post about this column. Read it on the way out this morning and I must say it brought a smile to my face.
Of course I reminded myself that if Feinstein felt the need to mention Notre Dame who is in the NIT, he could have hammered his point home further by talking about how first round NIT loser Gtown destroyed NCAA second round Maryland. Of course that would mean both taking a shot at Gary while handing out some indirect praise towards the Hoyas. I guess hell freezing over wouldn't even match that admission.

Another money quote ends the article: Apparently nobody bothered to inform him Florida State became a football-playing member of the ACC in 1992 and won or tied for the conference championship the rest of the 1990's. The teams they tied with: Virginia in '94 and Georgia Tech in '98.

Actually, the real question is: Is it spelled 'dwarfs' or 'dwarves' ?

I knew that, I just wanted to re-focus the discussion appropriately.

I believe they prefer to be called "little people." That's confusing. A child is a "little person", but not a dwarf.

The funny thing is that Kryzwieski I think *could* get super athletes suited to every position, but he seems to go for a team full of "all-around" versatile players (all skinny), and its like 5 of the same guy. The problem is that "banger" is not a role that most "all-around" players do really well. Georgetown has a little bit of the same problem in that everybody is versatile but nobody seems to know their role, and there is no banger. Having a bunch of "Renaissance men" is a nice idea, but you always need a point guard and a banger. Gtown has a good point guard in Wright, the banger is what they need to find.
The teams that are successful now, like Villanova, UConn, Louisville are totally architected with specific roles. You won't see Scotty Reynolds being asked to shore up the rebounding like Jason Clark was! I think JTIII has to realize that quick and get some key role players ASAP.

I had been wondering earlier today when the last time an ACC team other than Duke or UNC had made the sweet sixteen. The answer is BC in 2006, with NC State in 2005 being the only other team to do so in the past five years.
