... was completely encapsulated when the SJU kid simply ripped the offensive rebound out of the hands of Monroe, turned and bowled his way in for a layup. Can't remember if it tied the game, gave them the lead, or just brought them closer, but it was a pretty stupefying moment.
I love Monroe's skills, so I don't mean to pick on him. As a group, this team got pushed around this year like the wimpy kid on the playground. They better find some toughness, or recruit some, or I don't see this group being a whole lot better next season.

I'm starting to think that the best thing that could happen to this team would be a loss Tuesday and a quick out in the NIT - then we could immediately get into the weight room that we need so desperately. If we can't get stronger and tougher for next year, we will be mediocre at best. Julian is the only player that showed signs of being a man this year - and you don't win in this league without some men on your side.

One of the glaring things missing from this year was a tough 4 who could go up and grab boards. Unfortunately, that 4 had committed to Georgetown but for varying circumstances never made it to the Hilltop. JTIII saw the need for a banger and recruited one (a good one) but it didn't work out. By currently recruiting people like Latavious Williams JTIII shows he understands this and is trying to fix it. It will also help when Monroe and Sims do nothing but eat and lift to put on weight for the upcoming season. Hopefully Augie has an intense workout routine lined up for this team in the offseason.

They should start today, and not worry about what it does to them for the last few games.

Actually, aren't you talking about when Thomas clearly fouled our guy over the back, ripped the ball loose, then got fouled and barely missed the layup to go to the line and tie the game?

That play was not a foul in the Big East - it was a man showing a kid how to rebound.

I guess he could have missed the layup - honestly, I was still blinking in disbelief that the guy just ripped the ball out of Monroe's hands.
And sorry, I can't blame the refs on that one.

Right on the mark!
