I was a chem major, so let us discuss team chemistry. Check the article: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/13/AR2009021303506.htmlSomething happened to our team after the Duke game and infighting might be the explanation. We have played better the last few games, with some "good" losses. However, with the terrible losses we had, our record is, well terrible. There is too much individual player bashing. The bigger problem is how come our team is not coming together. This problem seems to be the cause of the poor play, not the result of it. With our tempo, there are a limited number of shots per games, so players will not have big scoring numbers. See UNC or Memphis for big stats. Fans realize that Green was a lottery pick without a high scoring average and that the team got to the final four because of team play. When you have top recruits they are probably thinking NBA so they want a good resume, a large part of which is actually team success. Our players will be shooting themselves in the foot if the team has a terrible record and their stats are not good. I am more concerned about the potential collapse of the bright future of the program. There could be transfers and early entries that put us squarely at the bottom of the league next year. www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/13/AR2009021303506.htmlprior ongoing discussion on same topic: hoyatalk2.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=18861

i think chemistry is the biggest problem.
everybody is not on the same page.
and this the greatest concern.
if we were playing together and making mistakes and losing, thats one thing. i think those who champion the youth + inexeperience part would have a strong argument if that were the case. Kinda like how UCONN was 2 years ago, and then they evolved. Kinda like how Jay Wright's early Villanova team struggled and didn't emerge until their junior and senior years. despite their struggles they had hope.
but that isn't the case with us. i believe something has happened. whether its a split locker room or what, but we are definitely not all on the same page. and we are definitely not disciplined out on the court.

I wonder if you watched Uconn play two years ago. They were anything but on the same page. They didn't even make the freaking NIT that year. This years team problem isn't that they aren't on the same page, as they are usually on the same page, it just always happens to be the wrong page. Usually only when there is 10 minutes left in the game.

Chemistry is overrated. Signed, B. Bonilla ;D Just kidding, but let's not go too crazy/overboard on the chemistry issue. Yes, there was a problem in the Duke game, and yes, it probably carried over a few games after that. In the last several games however, beginning with Syracuse I think, I don't see chemistry as the problem this team is having on the court, but they still lost those games. Besides, _way, I thought the problem was that this team wasn't talented? In any case, tas is right. This has been hashed out ad nauseum. IIRC, we didn't come up with any answers.

UCONN were on the same page, they just made dumb mistakes because of their youth. Same with Villanova. Villanova had a great recruiting class that took while (3 years) for them to evolve. Our group are a bunch of individuals out there.

Our group are a bunch of individuals out there. Now I know you DEFINITELY didn't watch Uconn in 2006-2007. They didn't have a point guard that year because AJ Price was now where close to being back. None of their guards could or really would pass. Thabeet was even more of a liability on offense than he is right now and Adrien was constently trying to take over games with his limited skill set. Sorry, but that is not working together. Ask any Uconn fan, they would all say the same thing, chemistry was one of the biggest flaws of that team, mostly because they were so young. This Gtown team is better than that Uconn team was. Also I don't know what Gtown team your watching, but they do not play as a bunch of indivuduals out there. They play as a team, a bad team that tightens up under pressure, but a team. Usually, until the last 5 or 10 minutes we play like a good to very good team, and work very well with each other.

Please lock up this clutter. All it does is provide the-way with another venue to spout his donkeylicious ramblings that have already been covered ad nauseum.
