you can never trust what those sites say or even what kids say. At this point with the information available i'd say if he had actually had a non contingent offer from georgetown he would've taken it.

Gary Parrish of CBS Sportsline says B.I.G. to Memphis: gary-parrish.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6271764/15232865"Top 20 recruit expected to pick Memphis Latavious Williams is expected to commit to Memphis at a Tuesday afternoon press conference, his high school coach told CBSSports.com. "I'd faint if anything [besides Memphis] came out of his mouth," said Humble (TX) Christian Life Center's Carlos Wilson. In other words, unless Williams surprises everybody -- and sends his coach to the floor -- he will be Josh Pastner's second recruit, joining junior college standout Will Coleman." I hope Benimon can play.

"Georgetown came in a little late also in January, but (assistant coach) David Cox did a great job recruiting, and Latavious liked him as much as any coach that recruited him. The academic situation at Georgetown was just a little intimidating to him."
The end of the quote explains a lot. He wanted us more than we wanted him. Memphis, on the other hand, wanted him more than he wanted Memphis. Best of luck to the kid though.
Now give me Kendrick and Jones!

Now that he has committed to Memphis, I think that Latavious needs a new nickname.
Latavious M.I.A. ?
Latavious Spel-N-B ?
I am open to suggestions here.

I think we must keep this thread under 50. Lock this up until sometime in the Fall/Winter of 2010 when we play Memphis again so we can have a 50 page ceremony at halftime.

Well I guess Taub's only contribution to Gtown will be that he helped create the longest thread in Hoyatalk history. ;D

Well, at least he can pass a test and get into school. That's a start and more than the other guy can claim so far.
