That one's pretty explainable though--our period of mediocrity coincided with Boeheim's refusal to allow Cuse to move to the ACC, likely saving the Big East. It's the only thing he's done worth respecting. Yeah, and then the McNamara game happened and that all went right out the window, at least for me. Yeah, I'm not saying I still respect him, just that there's a very good reason why he had an increase in the amount of respect Hoya fans gave him during our down years.

This only bothers me because Boeheim really only says this stuff about Gtown. That is annoying. Put villanova in that game (keeping all other variables--record, deprate nature of the teams, etc-- the same) and he probably puts it more diplomatically (like, "they are a good team, im glad we beat them it keeps our hope alive").

There are things that we only say about Syracuse too. That's the nature of a 30-year rivalry.

I like a good rivalry (and like good natured insults) but sometimes both sides take it too far (i.e. the stands at the game). oh well i must go run and hide now so i dont get my head torn off for questioning the hatred of SUcks.

So how is this a bad thing? I don't think the Committee has crossed our name off the list because of Boeheim's comment - therefore all it can possibly do is give the Hoyas some added motivation. Maybe we should be thanking Bucky!!

Hey, at the very least we had the entire NCAA Tournament Selection Committee at our home game against Syracuse where we took them behind the woodshed. That has to count for something.
WE CAN BUILD ON THIS!

Turn it around--would the incident in the stands last weekend have generated as much discussion after the fact had it occurred at the Prudential Center with SHU and GU fans? Would we care a tenth as much about the quoted comments had they come from Mick Cronin after Cincy beat us for the second time? Yup, it's a good rivalry.

You'd all be glad to know that Jim Calhoun still thinks you're darn good.... "....I’d like to see Georgetown with 15 or 16 wins right now because I think they’re that good," Calhoun said. "And I can say the same thing about Notre Dame, too, by the way...."mattsuconnblog.blogspot.com/

Im the biggest hoya fan out there like you guys and hate syracuse, not as much as UCONN but i hate them enough but i dont see the how we can kill boeheim. True hes whinney and always has a scowl on his face but the guy is the most underrated in college basketball. The dude has had 32 - 20 win seasons, any program would like that?? I mean he has a N Champ, and enough final fours. He also has a pretty hot wife , 2nd wife but hot none the less..
I hate his program, and his p layers. I remember some dude dave johnson always killing us and i hate DEVO and all of them. But I dont know how anyone can rally knock his success..

Let's be honest, if we had won that game, it WOULD HAVE been the worst loss in Cuse history. Can you even imagine how good that would have been? So damn close.
