Any news on Sapp? Clearly there is a leadership void with this team. I'm guessing something happened at half time.

Once again, no "guessing" and "speculation" posts please.

I heard Sapp asked for his first half minutes to be capped at 5, and blew up a halftime b/c he was played for 6.

I just think his performance has been slightly better as of late. That is why I feel like something was said between him and the coach.

It must have been a real punch in the face to be benched like that.

I heard that while on the way to the game Saturday, the team got a flat tire. While Jansen was helping coach change it, III's hand bumped into Jansen's and all the nuts went flying into the street. Just as a natural reaction, Jansen yelled "Fudge." Only it wasn't "fudge." It was the mother of all swear words. Jansen was upset but couldn't tell III that he had heard III use that word so many times before, like when III tries to fix the furnace and gets soot all over his face. So Jansen blamed Jesse for teaching him such profanity. Coach made Jesse ride with soap in his mouth the rest of the way to the game. He was able to play the first few minutes, but then while subbed out, he went blind. Tragedy, really. It was the soap.

Does anybody know if JTIII called him out at half time. It was clear in the second half he wasn't coming back in. Sitting all the way at the other end of the bench. I would have been more comfortable with Sapp handling the ball at the end of the game.

I heard that Jesse became a Controller after one of the Yeerks went through his ear and took control of his mind. JTIII and the rest of the coaching staff are apparently trying to figure out how to morph into animals so they can combat the Yeerks and beat Visser 3, their leader.

I really hope that the handle "biggmanu" is not a reference to Big Man U but an homage to Manumana the Slender, the Samoan center for the the Texas State Fighting Armadillos best known for his "I'm gonna go out and get some poi" sack celebration dance.

Rich Chvotkin > Chuck Niederman. I think instead of line-dancing to the Charlie Daniels Band, we should have a halftime show where the Texas State marching band does its salute to gun racks and open beverage containers. Even though its only legal in Texas, I don't care.

I would have been more comfortable with Sapp handling the ball at the end of the game. The story I heard was that in his Senior year, Jessie finally learned from a board member that GU is actually referred to as Big Man U. As a guard, he realized he can never be part of the great legacy of Georgetown heroes and was so devastated that he was unable to play for the entire game. Maybe someone with a handle like AI4EVER or SLEEPYTIME should write something nice about GU's under-appreciated guard tradition.

Monroe is the truth. Freeman is pokey. Wright is out of control. We may never see sapp again. Clark has some potential but would rather chuck the ball out of bounds. Omar needs to stop shooting. All in all we're still a Big Man University. Feed the man.

Sorry, you can't throw out an ad-hominem attack like that unless you have at least 74 posts on this board. Its in the unwritten rules. Look it up.

On Sapp's final possession on the court last Saturday, he tried to thread a pass through two defenders to the weak side under the basket. I think in a normal possession, such a mistake might be tolerable because the system encourages high-risk passes if they lead to lay-ups. However, I think coach might have been upset with Sapp's pass because they could have held the ball for the final shot of the half and instead turned the ball over. Maybe coach even called a specific set and that set did not involve a line drive pass to the weak side.
Do I think that such an error by Sapp deserves benching for an entire half? Not really, but I think it's easy to imagine circumstances in which such a pass represents insubordination.
