Wake me up when we have a PG who can make a correct decision for once. 1-on-3 drives by himself. Shying away from contact. Still unable to create shots for anyone else. I don't want to hear the BS that he makes more mistakes than a guy like JWal because he's more talented. 13 seconds left... DON'T DRIBBLE OUR SEASON AWAY. Awful job by the staff: did they tell all the players that they can run the baseline to inbound after a make? And if you're going to call a timeout on the last possession... do it when we cross halfcourt with 20 seconds left, not before nearly turning the ball over 7-8 seconds later. Then again, we would've just watched Chris Wright dribble on the perimeter for 18 seconds instead of 10, trying to figure out what to do. I haven't been this frustrated with a Georgetown team since Esh. There. I said it. I agree with everything but your comment on the TO. Its classic JTIII to let his players rebound and play out the break going the other way. It catches the other team off-guard and I think he tells the players this in practice (think ND in his first year). Players freak out at the end of the game, just its not ours usually. He called a TO with 13 seconds left when he saw what Chris was about to do, namely drive into 2 defenders. In fact, I think Chris traveled the half second after the TO was whistled.

Worked fine at end of regulation, got an open 3 for Summers, who bricked it.

back off of Sapp, word is that he was ill.
We needed him in there in the OT. We lost an 11 point lead, could not make FT or run a final play to keep us in it. Needed leadership and I still like his.

yea, yea, yea, Sapp was ill....that's fine and dandy....
But, as I told a prominent member of this board, via PM, he's not been playing well this season, and that's not debateable, lest his flu has lasted all season.
Good fourth post, though...the bastion of knowledge

Positives: First game in a long time that I wasn't surrounded by opposing fans. Bench. Really great hustle by Nikita, Omar & Julian. Clark looked good at times.
Negatives: I thought it was the worst game I've seen from Greg. Not just those critical free throws, but missed layups, stepping out of bounds, traveling, failing to secure the ball. He's uber-talented, and personally I think he's probably going to the NBA (they draft on potential, not current skill set), but he isn't without his share of responsibility for today.
Chris. Yeow. He's such a gambler. When it works, it's spectacular, but when it doesn't . . . He plays like he thinks he's a bit better than he really is.
I feel for Jessie; it's not like everyone is playing that much better than he is. He sat WAY down at the end of the bench in the second half, away from his teammates, what's up with that?
Austin, how about a little defense occasionally? And why, exactly, is it such an adventure getting the ball inbounds?

This season brings back memories of my years at Georgetown. We always were optimistic at the beginning of the season, get a couple of good wins, but then fade away.

He hasn't been shooting well at all, but his defense, passing and ball security have been as good as or better than our other guards.

semantics, mapei
Sapp's defense has been good...his shooting horrible...his passing subpar....his leadership iffy...this isn't the same jessie I've watched for three years. I don't know what it is because I thought he was going to be our stabilzer, or bridge for a young team, and he hasn't been.

What makes y'all think we'll get invited to the NIT? Random question: is Jansen gone for the year? More serious observation: This team is making it more clear how special the Wallace/Roy/Jeff class was. Remember when, just before this losing streak came down, some idiot fellow poster said how glad he was to be rid of Jon and Roy? How's that working out for ya now, buddy?

are guards should learn how to drive to the basket.. chris drives to the basket but he either goes and throws up and wild shot and hopes get fouled, or gets blocked

Much better effort on defense today.... finally. You were ok with the defense today? In spurts, it was good (just like our offense, hustle, rebounding was good...for stretches) at times). Not so much when Cincy was shooting 70% in the second half...which let them set up their fearsome, passive press on just about every possession. This is just a loser team. Like a baseball team whose hitting comes alive for 8 runs when their pitchers give up 10 runs, or can't score a run when their pitchers give up one run. We've been spoiled with teams that knew how to win. This team doesn't have a clue.
