Eh. I think my brother said it best -- when I was commenting on our recent losses and how we're missing chemistry, etc, he astutely responded: "No, what you're missing is Jon Wallace."

i'd argue we're missing a 7'2" defensive monster in the middle, which was largely responsible for our success on defense these past 2-3 years.
i like guards with mobility. we're just a daycare right now.

I think the best thing we can take from the whole article is that Seth Davis considers us on a fairly respectable list of NCAA contenders. After the Hall game, I'm amazed to see us in print anywhere near Louisville and NC.
Tables: I said the same thing during WV and Seton Hall--I think my line was "Oh god, where is Jon Wallace?!"

I agree. And a 7'2 monster would allow Greg to be that Point Forward he's truly meant to be. That being said, I think the addition of McDermott would be a good one. He's a nice player that would fit in with the Hoyas system.

I think we're missing a Dwight Howard type player. Some sort of 7 foot athletic phenom who we could rely on for 30/20 a game, along with total dominance of the paint. I think with Dwight Howard, this team wins a national championship.
Absent him, LeBron really fits into our system, with his ability to shoot, drive and pass from anywhere in the half court. He also fits our NEW system, where someone gets the ball, attempts to penetrate for no clear reason, and then either turns the ball over or gets the shot blocked. LeBron would finish those.

i agree the best part is that we're still being considered. I think the general perception is that we had an off shooting couple of games....everyone knows we have talent and to sleep on that would be ridiculous (hence us not dropping completely out of the rankings) but clearly if we continue to play like this noone is going to be using the words Georgetown and Contenders in the same sentence....(i guess maybe if there was a not before it but I digress)

I dont know what our missing piece is but if we can stop looking backward and l ook forwards it might be easier to find our answer. Strummer please jon wallace is gone dont you think its about time you accepted that. In case you didnt know Ewing Jr is gone and so is Hibbert and guess what there not ever coming back and cant help this team so stop wasting your time obsessing about them.
We obvoulsy need players that can shoot the ball, play 3's team concept and guards that will pass the ball to monroe. Maybe Hollis is one of those guys... But please guys that have exhaused there eligability are not going to help this team

If youth is the problem, Hollis is not the answer.

I too would like to see the staff bring in either of these guys. If I recall correctly, they haven't played in college yet, so they must have 4 years of eligibility left.
